Margaret Brennan of Face the Nation makes a really weird statement To Rubio, saying that free speech was responsible for the holocaust! Where TF did this "journalist" get her education???  She said "He (Vance) was standing in a country where Free Speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVk6ZpROc5U I don't wish for people to lose their jobs but she should be fired! She's probably talking about hate speech.Whenever I've posted about white supremacists being out in cities, with their Nazi flags and signs, I've been told by MAGA, that it's their first amendment right. When college students were protesting against the genocide in Gaza, MAGA called them terrorists, and wanted them thrown out of college, wanted the colleges closed, and for any students who weren't citizens, to be deported. Nobody was concerned about their first amendment rights. IP: Logged |

I’ve already explained this numerous times. The Supreme Court ruled that hate speech is protected. If not, we really have no First Amendment. Universities that receive federal funding cannot allow discrimination on campus. That is illegal. Not to mention the terrorizing, the blocking of buildings from Jewish students, and the kidnapping of staff. IP: Logged |

The nazis marching “peacefully” are exercising their freedom of speech. We don’t agree with anything they represent but we support the First Amendment even when it applies to them.The student protests may have started out peacefully but it degenerated. They destroyed property and committed other criminal offenses. As for the students who are not citizens, it is not appropriate nor wise to break the law in this manner while living a host country. Breaking the law is not automatic ground for deportation but it can be used to deport. Free speech protects everyone’s right to express themselves… peacefully. IP: Logged |

Hate speech is illegal in Germany. Vance was speaking in Germany, not in the U.S. It’s incredibly rude to come into Germany and lecture them about far right political parties and free speech. You don’t have to explain anything to me. Especially when you’re just parroting things that rumpy says, in other threads - things you know are not true, like blaming Ukraine for the war, when Putin invaded. I am not parroting anyone. I am telling you the law and what the Supreme Court ruled. You ignored everything I said and completely changed the subject. Conspiracy theories? I go against them all the time. Most of what you have defended here has been debunked, such as all those fake stories about President Trump.
