Easter Sunday, Francis called on world leaders to help those in need and to work towards peace.“I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others, but rather to use the resources available to help the needy, to fight hunger and to encourage initiatives that promote development,” he said. “These are the ‘weapons’ of peace: weapons that build the future, instead of sowing seeds of death!” http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/20/jd-vance-granted -lightning-audience-with-pope-francis-in-vatican

Ha, Pope Francis, the one who from the security of his walled Vatican, criticized Trump's policy of deportation of illegal immigrants as a "disgrace". While the Vatican itself was cracking down on its own illegal immigrants: https://www.catholicworldreport.com/2025/01/15/vatican-cracks-down-on-i llegal-entry-into-its-territory/ ...Anyone convicted of illegal entry will be banned from entering Vatican territory for a period of up to 15 years. If this sanction is breached, the offender may be punished with a prison sentence of one to five years. I know I should not speak ill of the newly deceased, but I could not resist inserting some facts into all the glowy eulogies. IP: Logged | |
