Trump was one of the reasons, but not the only reason. The other reason is because the opposing politician, Pierre Poilivere built this entire campaign on blaming Trudeau.
At the eleventh hour, Trudeau resigns and Carney comes in, leaving Poilivere without a relevant campaign anymore.
That plus he's a fake populist, I met Poilivere when he was still a fledgling politician and before I moved away from Ottawa he was the politician running in my area.
He knocked on my door, I'm more of the let the person talk first then size them up.
You learn so much about a person just by the way they put their words together, the way they gesture, social cues, and etc.
He came off trying so hard to convince me he was a nice guy, just wasn't natural.
If your a weak minded person you'd fall for it, after that point I was like I'd never trust this guy.

Not exactly.
It wasn't a knockout, if it was Carney would have gotten a majority government, not a minority.
Some people voted for Poilivere believing he would be better to combat Trump. It really comes down to your social and economic background.
My industry isn't vulnerable to whatever happens down south. If anything it will benefit me more.
It's mainly places like Alberta and Saskatchewan that are the most vulnerable.
The economy of Alberta is almost entirely dependent on fossil fuels. Their souls are practically dependent on the US.
