There are no cuts to Medicaid in this bill. Any article that spreads the lie that most of the tax cuts go to the wealthy and large corporations is trash. Most of the tax cuts go to the middle class. No one is buying this BS.IP: Logged |

As the article states, the people who might lose Medicaid are the able bodied adults, who are NOT working. The bill is not cutting Medicaid for people who are disabled or anyone with an impediment that prevents them from working or makes them underwork. To be able to get Medicaid, if you are an able bodied adult (and not the mother of a pre-school baby/toddler), you will be required to have some kind of employment, instead of just putting "unemployed" on a form and be able to get Medicaid. That is the meaning of the following in the article: quote: It hits unemployed adults especially hard. Anyone without kids or disabilities would have to prove they’re working, volunteering, or in school for at least 80 hours a month just to keep their health care. If they miss the mark or fail to file paperwork on time, they lose coverage. And instead of checking eligibility once a year, the bill forces people to prove it twice a year — increasing the chance they’ll be kicked off the program.
I personally don't think it is a bad idea. Why should an abled bodied person who is not bothering to work receive public assistance in the form of Medicaid? There will be jobs, with all the new deals Trump has made with those companies, so what will be the excuse for able bodied people not to work??? And if able bodied people don't want to work and they prefer instead to do volunteer work aka community service and/or go to school for at least 80 hours a month, then they can still get Medicaid. So what's the problem? IP: Logged |
