Rep. Rick Allen’s use of “If you curse Israel, you’ll be cursed” is a misapplication of Genesis 12:3, and it ignores historical, theological, and political nuance.

Misinterpretation of Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse…”
— Genesis 12:3 (spoken to Abraham, not the modern State of Israel)

This was a spiritual promise to Abraham and his descendants — not a blanket immunity for any political entity or government.

Many theologians agree this doesn’t apply to modern nation-states or exempt them from criticism or moral accountability.

Israel (the biblical patriarch) and modern Israel (est. 1948) are not the same entity, either politically or theologically.

Such is the brain washing of Americans that people twist true teachings.

My former state's governor had a scandalous affair with a Israeli origin security officer because of his deep programming that they are God's people. He resigned later.
