INGRAM, Texas – The search and rescue mission in the Texas Hill Country is now an international effort.
Firefighters from Mexico have arrived in Kerr County, Texas to help find survivors and those missing in the catastrophic flash flooding that swept through the region on Independence Day.
More than 20 firefighters from Ciudad Acuña, Mexico and Fundación 911 are lending a hand to their northern neighbor.
The crew arrived in the Hill Country on Sunday morning and got right to work.
They are working alongside the Mountain Home Fire Department.
They are not only bringing extra boots on the ground, but also drones and other technology to help find the several dozen Texans still missing.
Leaders of the group tell KPRC 2 that they work hand-in-hand with U.S. fire departments to train to respond to disasters.
