Trump fires Labor Secretary:President Donald Trump fired Erika McEntarfer, the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), shortly after the release of the July 2025 jobs report, which showed a weak gain of only ~73,000 jobs and large downward revisions in May and June totaling ~258,000 fewer jobs Trump accused McEntarfer—who was appointed by the Biden administration—of presenting “rigged” or “phony” job numbers to harm his political standing. You’re late to the party. She was incompetent and had the largest revisions in 50 years (not counting COVID). She deserved to be fired. Right before the election, she came out with phenomenal numbers for the Biden/Harris administration, and then after the election, she said she was wrong and revised the numbers. Good riddance!
