As much as we study astrology here, I think we graze over what it really is like to experience the lessons other people do in their lives.

For a moment I would like to highlight for others what it's like being an Aries, so they can get somewhat of an insider's view of the energy we're exposed to on a daily basis:

Often, I feel tremendous energy. Energy that wants to explore, to discover, to compete and to even battle against foes...
And, when I have no foes to fight, this Aries will fight herself.

Aries energy wants to move forward. It has no patience. It has no interest in spending time mulling over discussing change, or diplomacy, or whether it's right or wrong to lable something black and white.

It simply wants to MOVE FAST FORWARD.

Imagine that for a moment. The mind always containing pure energy, pure drive, pure desire for indulging in the next excitement...

Imagine dreading watching T.V. for the DEEP PAIN of waiting through a commercial for your program to start again. This is true stuff.

Now, throw the cold water of reality on top, and imagine the frustration Aries feels when we can't accomplish the things we want to accomplish, we can't win the battles we want to win, and we can't move mountains, after all.

It's a tough life.I would even say, it's a tad bit more tough for us Female Aries.

Since being very young, I knew I was more "masculine" feeling than say... Pisces and Libra women. THEY are graceful, dainty, always saying the right thing... they smell good, they laugh at everyone's jokes, and especially - they never get MAD.

Aries women get mad, alright. We get mad a lot. We hate ourselves for getting mad!

I grew up always feeling like others were desperately trying to slow me down, correct me, compete with me, or simply even try to stop me all together.

It has been a constant experience, and instantaneous interaction with "slower and calmer" types of astrological signs.

Others just can't UNDERSTAND why an Aries has to open their mouth, and insert foot. They have no appreciation for our excitement, our quick thoughts, speech and movement.

They want us to SLOW down. To be softer and more approachable... like Venus, or Neptune. But we are influenced by Mars. You can't sugar coat that for long.

Hopefully, some Aries women have that configuration and it helps mellow them out. But, for the unfortunate ones, that have a lot of fire in their chart - it is almost impossible...

To be continued.

Aries do have soft sides and secret sides, although keeping secrets is a difficult task, because we often will say whatever is on our minds... spilling our most precious thoughts out in front of any audience, at any time.

So, being true to form, I'm going to spill one of our secrets:

About how infantile we can be... there's a deep insecurity in every Aries woman. As much as we're built for warfare, for fire, for battling against the elements, when facing our own failures we're complete babies... reduced instantly to helplessness in the face of impossible circumstances.

No matter how brave an appearance, how intimidating, how strong we can be, we're terrified of being abandoned, forgotten, and left out.

All very immature when you boil it down, but this is our karmic lot in life.

There was a period in my life when I realized where my source of frustration was coming from - I was too bold, too impulsive, too MUCH. I had to STOP being too much. And, I decided to try to CONTAIN all of my Aries energy, to make it more palatable for others.

Instead of accomplishing what I thought I could, by rewiring myself to be somehow "improved" I just dampened down my drive, and started losing my most simple enjoyments... like eating, socializing, or even discovering.

I became afraid of myself! And, became neurotic in trying to bypass my own instincts.

This has since ended, but I have to laugh when I hear others talk about inner transformation and rebuilding the self - it's as if others think you can turn Neon into Gold. Or, Sodium into Hydrogen.

Aries energy is an element! It is one base product amongst the other 11 signs. It is what it is!

That's not to say that an Aries woman won't try very hard to be softer, but there's always a tinge of forcefullness there, sprinkled with a bit of short attention span, too.

I will help others, but it will be quick. I will hold someone's hand, but only for so long. And as much as I can focus myself on being "compassionate" and "patiently understanding" the way my Taurus daughter does naturally, it's not as natural. Not as organic.

The meal comes charred from the flames of Aries.

Other secrets? We have almost no self-control. Yes. Close to none.

In fact, it probably takes an entire lifetime to learn how to control Aries energy. I did self-control intentionally, and I regret it.

Thankfully, the astrological transiting weather has some lingering softening effects on helping me grow in that direction (even though I can't place my finger on how).

Having gone through my Saturn return; a point where I had been slowed almost to a complete stop in life...

I'm now looking fron the other side, thinking, "Jeez, wasn't that a waste of time?"

Not something enlightened like, "Well, I'm SO glad I learned how to be patient."

Somethings are just permanent disabilities. Some things just slow down because we age.

Our attention spans? Alright, also bad.

"Were you saying something?"

"Did you want us to be somewhere at some time?"

"What?"

These are common "deafening" responses to boring subjects or questions.

Now, replace the subject with something new, something fascinating, something with possibility and we will burn our way right down to the core.

There is nothing faster, nothing better at sucking the bone marrow out of a new, exciting subject... than... well... Pluto. And, Scorpio.

Aries are also GREAT at starting things. We love to pioneer things that haven't been done before...

As far as maintaining? Leave it for the Earth signs. There's no WAY I could handle it.

So, on that note... here was another new thread started in Aries form. I may be back to add more, but likely I'll be flying around at the speed of light looking for the next challenge

Hope you enjoyed reading!

it was very well done, PS...i wish i could talk about something like that...i'm much too "short, sweet, and to the point" when i talk and i dont really KNOW how to drag things out when explaining unless i dont know how to say what i want in less words...i'll use as little words as i can, not intentionally...it just happens like that

lol, if i ever do i would have to plan it out for several days, including research cuz i can never do anything without external references, write it all out in microsoft word and copy and paste and if i do i have every confidence it will also be well written...i usually never stop until i am satisfied by the quality

edit: you know i'm actually starting to write my story now, lol, i'v got a piece of paper and a pen out and i'm drawing up an outline...if my format looks like anyone elses, then it is pure coincidence, lol

I'm glad this was helpful, Quinnie.

I have an Aries nephew and seeing him grow up, while other people really struggle with him and are left scratching their heads - I just TOTALLY empathize. I JUST KNOW. Haha.

I can relate to some of this - Sun/Mercury/Chiron/Ceres conjunct in Aries, and Jupiter is there, too.

I've developed a bit of a thicker skin over the years, so I don't always need to be handled with kid gloves, although I can be too sensitive, and take things too personally at times. I used to feel crushed by any miscommunication, but have adapted, for the most part. (As I said elsewhere: I'm too tired to really communicate tonight.)

As an Aries gal I have to say that although a lot of it doesn't feel like me (must be The other aspects of my chart) but I would never have had the patience to write all of that.

I have many Aries friends and they are good people. They are generous and honest.

Yes, a firey temper here and there but short lived

They are fearless and brave, a true warrior of the zodiac

PS, you are the first Aries female I have met. I know a lot of Aries males though, and we get along famously. I appreciate their drive, determination, and the way they fight for what they believe in, whether it's a major cause or just wanting to help a friend.

One time my best male friend (an Aries of course) blew up at me and really hurt my feelings. But he was right--he just expressed himself poorly LOL.

He called me at 6 AM the next morning to check on me and make sure I was ok and apologize

Rams are more tenderhearted than they appear.

Charmaine--Love it! Where's the cool Virgo pic? I'll have to Google this artist.

hi PS. thanks for having the patience to see that through!!

as the mother and daughter of aries ladies, i have to say, yes, a lot of what you say applies. especially to my daughter, who has leo rising and seven planets in fire.

however my mother was one of the most self-controlled people i have ever met. and you meet a lot of people when you live in the entertainment and healing professions!

in all the time i knew her i only heard my mother raise her voice twice. however with virgo mars, scorp rising and a convent upbringing, she could make you feel smaller than a slug with a couple of words or a look.

HOWEVER she could set off my dad (venus/mars conj in aries conj her sun!) with a choice word, and HE would go off on everything in the room for about 20 mins...

intellectually, she was aries all the way, always on the cutting edge of thought and social mores...and when she developed a terminal illness and was given "two years max" she proved the doctor wrong...she stuck around 4 times that long and only left when SHE decided it was preferable to the pain she was living in by then. talk about warriors...

Thanks, StarofVenusGirl for the praise of Aries people We're not all bad, it's just in our nature to fight for something and it's a difficult trait to deal with. Overall, what you see with Aries is what you get, we are pretty blunt and honest, and will defintely defend the ones we love.
