Are you buying the one in the liquor store?

I have a copy of Absinthedragonfly's recipe to make homemade, but it's pretty labor intensive, so I don't know if I'll ever have the time to try it.

My favorite drink is a martini. Grey Goose, up, with 6 olives.

I will drink beer if I'm somewhere that doesn't make martini's or doesn't make them well. I'm picky.

I also love Petron tequila.
I can't say that Petron loves me back though.

Yes I buy it at state stores.

#1 Poison: Watermelon Margaritas at Firebelly's in Wilmington. It has a great flavor, and the actual Tequila is not watered down at all like in most places.

Others...

-Most Daquiris
-Cosmos
-Mimmosas
-Manhattans
-Sex on the Beach
-Grateful Days

....and Arbor Mist if my budget is tight.

When I last went to the aforementioned bar with some classmates, they all ordered beers and I was the one with the large rimmed glass painted like a watermelon...haha. I guess I am a very prissy drinker, signed Cap Ascendant.

Thanks Lexx, I want to try it, but didn't know anybody personally who has.

Has anyone drank four loko? It's a beer-ish, caffienated beverage, in flavors.
Oh my...
It's caused some deaths in college kids, and is banned in some places.

I warn you, one can (it comes it two proofs, so I am speaking of the 12% alcohol one) and you are feeling it!
It's a very strange sensation!
Wide awake and drunk.
I'm not sure that this is advisable. lol.

Well. I no longer drink, I stopped drinking about a year ago. For no reason besides liking to keep a lucid mind and substance free mind body and soul. Right now my poison of choice is herbal tea. Peppermint, Ginger, West Indian Lemongrass, Raspberry Leaf, Licorice, and Green Tea.

But here's a description of what my poison used to be when I dabbled in drinking:

Champagne (I'm surprised no one mentioned this, my nights were filled with Prosseco or any other chilled, dry sparkling wine or Champagne.)
Red Wine (Italian preferably, strong and bitter)
South African Wine (talk about delicious, a couple glasses and I was grooving)
Mimosa's
Stella Beer
Sangria
Rum and Coke
Vodka and Cranberry

And the greatest drink ever made is a Bellini! Rocks my world every time. Most underrated drink.

Honey mead.

Strawberry Daiquiri (strawberry is also my preferred flavor for wine coolers).

Peach brandy (peach is my 2nd fave for wine coolers), especially in eggnog and over ice cream.

B&B is also very smooth and pleasant though I have to be careful not to drink too much.

i think i'm a beer guy which is odd coz i used to hate it tho i still hate chilled mugs or cans. i think it's coz of good local brews and hot weather..

i love absinthe too but i think there's a lot of fake stuff posing as the real deal..

i should watch it though. my chinese astrologer said i may have alchoholic tendencies in my forties coz of some animal clashes that decade ack! i threw out most of my drinking stuff/ gadgets after that reading. i believe it is possible. it is in my genes at least. my dad and grandad are big on alcohol tho hard to classify as deerunks the love the sauce for sure..

Alcohol may as well be poison to me. No Joy.

My physical reaction to it disturbs me.

Ditto. I drink socially and this means I order a glass of something which most of the times I don't finish. I used to date this dude who would drink daily respectable amounts of wine without ever getting drunk! I swear I never saw him drunk or heard him slur (we lived together so I would know!).
The turn-off was when he invited his best friend over for "a drink" and that meant emptying 5 cases (each case has about 10 beers in them!) of beers between them in one night! I loved everything about him, he had a job, he had brains, he was cute but man I felt like drinking was too much to take on a daily basis. He had a cellar and so his taste was exquisite don't get me wrong, but it gets old quick when you see that he has a glass of something with every meal (before, during and after the meal!).

These days I never know what will trigger a crazy migraine so I usually stick with Shirley Temples. I prefer them with maraschino cherry juice (and extra cherries) instead of grenadine.

I'm not a true teetotaler - I do have a drink once or twice a year, seems like it is usually champagne at a party. I prefer sparkling wine though, especially a super sweet one. The cheapest ones are usually the sweetest to me. I absolutely hate regular wine. I've tried lots but haven't tasted one that made me want to drink it on purpose, with my dinner or something. People will always say "no, no, this port is really sweet, try it!". I try a sip and nope, it's never good to me. I just don't like it.

Actually anything I decide to drink is super sweet. I'll have a Tom Collins or Vodka Collins or even a pina colada - I have such an immature alcoholic palette!

Same with beer - I prefer sweet. Lambic beer is good but I've only had it once. I always say that I will go to a tasting but I never get around to it. Maybe my next date (if it is not humid and I had enough sleep - gotta think of those triggers). Sometimes I trick myself into thinking that Guinness will be sweet, but it never is...

I used to have drinks more often when I was in my early 20s, usually shots. I remember my favorite was an "oatmeal cookie shot" which is - 1/3 butterscotch schnapps, 1/3 Goldshlager and 1/3 Bailey's Irish Cream. Lemon Drop shooters were good too, which is just a shot of vodka followed by a sugar coated lemon wedge.

Random thoughts:

- Grey Goose is really good...
- Cognac makes me instantly sleepy...
- Screwdrivers made with Absolut Mandarin are gross (too much orange)...
- Cotton candy vodka just smells like it (tried it last year, X-mas)...
- I'd like to try that whipped cream flavored vodka in hot chocolate (this year, X-mas)...
- When I would go to one of those restaurants where there is a menu full of sweet, cheezily named drinks with the pictures by it I used to automatically go for something with Blue Curacao in it. Blue Hawaiis, Blue Lagoons, "Electric Lemonade"...
- I hate mojitos. Blech. I am not a big fan of mint but they always look so pretty, with the muddled mint leaves and all.
- Even though I prefer sweet, with brunch I prefer Bloody Marys over Mimosas. Especially if there is a DIY Bloody Mary bar. I think it is more about the additions (extra spice plus heavy olives!)...

i don't really do drinks like sex on the beach and what have you. i'm basically your stereotypical guy when i drink.

i drink beer. and wine. and whiskey. and gin.
the only kind of shots i do are godfathers, tequila or jag.
i've done my time with amaretto and spiced rum.

i like to get my money's worth when i drink.
