I don't want this string to be about whether or not OCD exists as a true disorder. I just want to hear about everyone's OCD stories. Keep it light and humorous. One thing I want to know is if anyone has a preference for putting toilet paper on a roll...over or under? I just stick it on whichever way it randomly goes. IP: Logged |

I'm OCD about bathrooms. I will avoid all public restrooms at all costs (except for the Trump Towers bathroom which is IMPECCABLE but still won't do #2) I clean my bathroom daily. The floors and toilet have to be sparkly and the toilet water has to be blue. It also has to have a faint scent of Clorox2 and NO decorations or a rug (ugh imagine the germs on the rug of a bathroom) I can easily sit on my toilet as I trust my bootie and my sons bootie. When my exterminator comes he ALWAYS wants to use my bathroom, ugh, then I have to disinfect right after IP: Logged |

Haha, I used to pee the bed alot as a kid. So as a result I have this habit- still into adulthood out of fear. I have to take 3 deep breaths and then sing a song, a church song I learned as a kid with the word water and when I sing water I have to squeeze it all out lol. And, depending on how empty I feel, I sometimes can do it 4 or 5 times lol. It gets old especially at a friends house or a first night with someone in a relationship with me- I always get "are you okay?" "why every night before bed you take so long?" Lol. Also, OVER! Lol I'm OCD about typing errors, the way I communicate online (so easy getting misunderstood, sharing TMI, or not being clear enough etc.) Also very OCD about dishes in the sink, I clean them right away and if I can't because of stubborn stains, then I'd rinse them and let them sit for a few minutes in the water. It drives me crazy when people don't even bother rinsing their dishes. ------------------ “If malice or envy were tangible and had a shape, it would be the shape of a boomerang.” — Charley Reese IP: Logged |

Been "over" lately. No particular reason. Juat wanted to.------------------ "All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice, and with others it's a conscious choice. Otherwise, those who commit suicide and those who succumb to accident, illness or "old age," die for exactly the same reason: belief in the inevitability of death." Linda Goodman IP: Logged |

OCD's diffinately exsist...in fact it was the main factor in what led to my divorce. My ex husband had them pretty bad. Things HAVE to be a certain way, there is NO working around it and certainly no reasoning. Pet Peeves are just that little pet peeves, they have nothing on OCDs. My ex husband would insist we do bills a certain way even though it was fincially unwise to do things that way, things would have to be turned off or left on a certain way. There were some little specific but he has had some very generalized things too, like if something didn't "feel" right, even though all logic suggested otherwise, we had to do it his way. Though I did bring home just as much money and did just as much around the house as he did, I certainly didn't get my wishes addressed without a huge and I mean huge fit! Not okay. It just became very hard to life with. When we started dating 13 years ago, it wasn't even half this bad but it got worse and worse as time went by and the nerviousness and aniexty, no medication he was on helped much, and therapy didn't work well because he insisted on trying to conveince the therapist that everything was just fine and he didn't have a problem, it was under control. sooooo frustrating! I guess my aqua 7th house just couldn't deal with it anymore! I wish him the best though I really do.IP: Logged |

My daughter has it pretty bad, she was prescribed medication for it, but she won't take it. She counts the tiles in the ceiling and arranges all her bottles and stuff by height order. Most of the females in my family are slightly neurotic, and we all do have significant Virgo placements, I noticed. My daughter has a Virgo moon. Now, my SO has OCD, but I find his more humerous than bothersome. When we go in a store, we have to go out of the store the other way. If we don't, it makes him feel 'weird' he says. In other words, if we enter the building from the left, we can't go back out towards the left, we have to go towards the right. This can get pretty funny when people are watching you circle a building for no good reason. Then yesterday, I was at his house, and I saw this sticker I liked on one of his stereo speakers, and so I told him I liked it. He said, "Oh, would you like one? I have another one." I said, "sure, thanks!" And he then opened a FILE cabinet and pulled out the sticker, under "S" of course and gave it to me. I said, "you file your stickers???" I thought it was cute. He has Virgo mars. I really do think Virgo influences this alot. IP: Logged |

I get bugged with family members when they leave the toilet seat or toilet door or house door (inner one) open as a habit. Once in a while, forgetful errors are OK. But habit or give a damn attitude a big No. Or leave used glasses, chocolate papers, anywhere they move in the house. I like them to be thrown in the bin atleast once in a while if not regularly. Virgo Moon explains this but Sagi Ascendent balances it.IP: Logged |

HiyaI'm definitely a 'toilet paper hangs over the front' kinda girl! I'm not OCD, but I prefer tins and jars to be label-forward. If they're not, it won't worry me but if I am the one putting them away or cleaning the shelf that they sit on, I will put them away in an orderly way. For me, its more about things looking nice and harmonious rather than ordered. Its great if they can, but I accept that there are times when they can't and I certainly won't lose sleep over it. I have my lazy moments too, lol. Regards Rachel ------------------ "Vision without Action is a daydream... Action without Vision is a nightmare." IP: Logged |
