As I try to claim my own power,I realize *I* was not allowed to have needs as a child.
I had to make sure my mother did not rage,number one.
Number two,I had to make sure that I was small enough i.e.under the radar screen that she did not get jealous.
I was very afraid to shine in any way.
Now, I feel guilty about having needs, whatever they might be.
Can anyone relate?------------------

I am trying to identify needs and NOT feel guilty when I try to meet them.
I love to give but I need to give to myself sufficiently that I HAVE something to give.
I used to have this balance
I want to get it back
I feel guilty about most every need.

The psychic readings taught me a LOT.I tried to do them free.
I did them free for friends and still do.It is my pleasure to do so.
However,you will have one or two catastrophies.
These teach you your lessons.
These hone you as a person and teach you that you must respect your own needs.

If I could say the needs I was NOT allowed to have,they would be needs for my own identity.
I was allowed to have certain needs such as need for education ,if you could call that a need.
I was allowed to have creative needs such as for music and art.
I was allowed to explore with my mind,to study all sorts of things.
I was NOT allowed to be confident.
I was not allowed to set boundaries and have MYSELF inside the boundaries.------------------

I was NOT allowed to have feelings . I was supposed to be above base human feelings .
That doesn't work too well,as you might imagine ------------------

i'm not allowed to be angry...if i show any signs of just a little blow up, my mom threatens me with an ass beating and tells me to shut up or get out of her face------------------

My family is one big **** pit, definitely not good people, and definitely didn't help me much in life. I remember a classmate asking me one day if I loved my mother and I told her no, I got a pretty shocked response from the class. My family was too busy creating their own dysfunction than to tend to a child, to say I recieved alot of indirect abuse would be putting it lightly. I try not to be bitter, but I'm still relatively young, and I get annoyed when I have these 20 to 30 something classmates who spend all their money partying because they know mommy and daddy will save them, I sometimes worry that it makes me an unpleasant person to be around. I try to make the best out of it by telling myself that my family's mistakes are just a lession in how NOT to treat people. IP: Logged |
