Yes, I did like the ending but Maude's death is just too sad.
Ruth Gordon is great though!
The film has a great message and a good soundtrack to boot.

I know the dark humor in the movie has a different effect on different souls.

BTW I am a Cat Stevens fan so the ending song struck me Not big on banjos tho.
