Perhaps we need a thread called "what is the function as a moderator" or "why moderators exist".

That is too bad Ami.

Your choice.
But please leave me be if you have no intentions to honour my request for a truce betwixt us.

Good idea juniperb!!!

I did not just close thread without privately getting advice and approval.
I will leave it up to RANDALL to close this thread but honestly see no reason why it should be closed.
As moderators I feel it is a conflict of interests to close another moderator's thread.

Certainly we know Randall`s intentions for mods and we all know the definition of a moderator. Yet it seems to mean something different to different people.

If we present what it means to us, the individual, perhaps we can understand each other clearer?

Thank you juniperb.
Moderator disputes should not be public in my opinion.
Ami showed no respect for my very carefully considered decision here to delete the thread in question, and has tried to make me out as a person picking on poor tuxedoMask.
I have repeatedly asked for a truce betwixt Ami and I but again she refuses.

This is not the first time she has hijacked my threads taking them off into off topic drama land.
I want to be a good moderator and feel I am,
but Ami is not my boss here,
Randall is.

Wow, this is what happens when I try to sleep in? Let me clarify things. I saw a borderline string with a questionable title in Astrology 2.0 that I moved here. It got progressively worse as it rolled along from the time it had started, and I should have deleted it instead of moving it. LEXX expressed her concern to me. I agreed, and I told her she could delete it. I deleted the moved version in Astrology 2.0 myself. The subject matter went way over the edge of good taste and definitely crossed the line. But it was ultimately my decision to close them both. That being said, We need a new rule here that no Mod can close another Mod's string. I realize you have had that happen to you before Ami, but hopefully this will resolve that. Defer that responsibility to me. A Mod can move a string to a more appropriate Forum (I've even had my strings moved before by Mods a few times), but no closing or deletion. I can't make all of my Mods like each other, but please no public displays. Each Mod has an e-mail address. If you must, e-mail one another with disputes. I'm not saying Tuxedo is a bad person, and there were other contributors to that string, but be aware that children are on Lindaland, and even on this Forum good tastes should prevail.

Mods bumping heads is one of the touchiest areas for me. Over all, I believe we all do what we think is our best.

The common thread in this tapestry that all mods should stand by is: we are the voice of all and arbitrators of the Rules of Conduct . Our forum and Lindaland in general.

Stand by the voice of all and we won`t become known for bias or subjective behaviors which aids in inciting drama... Then, it seems, all else will follow suit of being a fair moderator.

Hmmm, or is that a simplified, Aquarian like belief and rounding corners off ?

OK that seems like a good rule to which ALL Mod's must submit.
I am fine with it!

Sounds fair to me.

Thank you Randall
Sorry to bother you so often.
As you know I usually consult with you, especially on such things before making any drastic move.
As to Mods deleting other mods threads;
I do not recollect ever doing so.
Have no idea who deleted Ami's.
I do know some of mine were deleted or glitched away though.
I hope we can all move forward now.

I think it would be a sharper bite if Randall closed a mods thread and would keep the mod on their toes better

Yes when a mod is out of line in any way of course.
I would hope a mod would not violate in such a way to require their thread be closed however.
I did nothing wrong on my thread here to warrant it being closed.
Seems I was judged as picking on tuxedoMask by Ami.
That opinion had no business on this thread by one who had not seen the offensive thread and was oblivious to the dynamics of the decision I did not make only on my own.
That is not my way to just do such without consultation.
Well I told why I deleted thread and Randall confirmed the whys.

Randall,
would you like to close this or just leave it as is?

We could leave it as is for other Mods to chime in on, but I probably should just post the new rule in LLC2, since all of the Mods don't come to this Forum (and the rule isn't denoted in the title of it), so it's okay to close it due to the conflicts therein.

Good idea!
I shall close it and place a link in your new thread at LLC2.
