i really should stop telling the truth...all it ever freaking does is just get me yelled at by my mom

i'm a grown a$$ woman, paying the bills and i still have no freedom

mom says "start paying the bills and you'll have a say" or "start paying the bills and you can have freedom"

i start paying bills, and what do i get? the same damn crap as when i was 4

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

can she never treat me like an independent, grown woman?

i mean, she tells me to close the shed...i did, but the freaking lock is so rusted it will barely close anymore....what does she say? "omg, i'm crippled and i can close it!"

yea well sorry mom, i'm not you, i'm not my sister, i'm not my brother or any one else....sorry i cant close a rusted lock...and sorry for the fact that i fear trying because i dont want it to freaking crumble

She's just using you as an outlet for her crap. I'd brush it off and mark some boundaries, and detach a bit. But that's just me. Making the transition from a teenager to an adult in the eyes of your parents is not always easy, and she may never give you that respect. Depends more on the person.

Lonake, i totaly understand and agree...but the thing is i'v tried and i go nowhere....she literally beat up my sister for having a bad day and then kicked her out

edit: almost forgot this WONDEROUS part, she often says that she has one more good beating in her and shes saving it for me....she says that everytime i have a bad day.....so yea, i might be a little reluctant to say or do too much

I think she means when you move out and are supporting yourself, then you can make your own rules.

You are still living under another persons roof. You are still subject to their rules and whims.

*Note: I suspect the reason she does not treat you with "Grown Woman" respect is because you are not. Do you eat the food she buys by chance?

Children eat their parents food, because they have a dependency.

Does she do anything for you? or are you really 100% independent? Technically the answer is No, you live under her roof.

That should tell you something, give you a place to start looking at least.

Gotta love dear old mom, looking after you, giving you a place to sleep and eat. Not to mention a storage locker(room) for all your stuff. Who else is doing that for you Nikki?

Mblake, i get that, but the thing is, i'm the only one with any income in the house, so these are my bills, the house is in both of our names, so i'm paying the bills so i might not be 100% independent, i'm not totally dependent either and she is still going back on her own word

Oh, that is a different situation than I thought. My point stands for other people but I don't know what to say when the kid is paying the bills lol.

You have a unique situation Nikki.

Yeah, you know in a situation like that it must be frustrating for the parent who now has the depend on the kid.

But it is a good thing she has you, however the insulting may need to be put in check.

I'm sorry sweetheart Not making excuses but it sounds like she's either depressed or under a lot of stress. If she has money troubles that would aggravate the problem too. Money problems and depression (and other mental illnesses) trigger a lot of abuse.

Yes that works and I have that ability. However with some subjects I revert to raw personal experience which does not always translate to diplomacy well.

My stepfather made damn sure I understood the order of things. He was not a kind man. He provided and that was enough.

"It is only yours when Its yours" -basically-

Note: I sometimes feel unethical using that libra ability to get what I want, and I will rebel against it. Sometimes in spite of my situation.

I matters when I lay my head down to sleep and the days events go on playback.

"Whatever you do today, you have to sleep with tonight"

Or if you have no conscience then it doesn't matter.

I do, so it does.

It is valuable to me.

That does not remove the urge, never has.

I pay for my transgressions(that is the difference), no matter if you see it or not.

A price is always exacted.

Until you have fought that battle so many times to realize that no ground will be given.

Then you have to make do with what you have.

Keep it coming.

I have had to make do with what I have. Yes it is doable. No I wouldn't accept the cost.

I did not/ still do not have the correct things to make that happen/work for myself.

You are right Venus.
