This has been on my mind this evening:

"Victory is achieved in the way of conflict by ascertaining the rhythm of each opponent, by attacking with a rhythm not anticipated by the opponent, and by the use of knowledge of the rhythm of the abstract." from Book of Five Rings, Kaufman translation

Biblical parallel:

"1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?
10 ¶ I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him."

Thought about posting this in DD, however then thought the genesis of this was a bit to racy to fit there.

Was on my usual bike circuit uptown, stopped in for an adult refreshment and met a, uhm, women of questionable morals.

It boiled down to this, basically she had a "brother" (more like a overseer and guardian) and she was trying to drum up, uhm, business.

Dude next to me said something along the lines of "show me your vagina and I'll buy you a beer"

And the negotiations went from there to the point that for a mixed drink, she would do it, I happened to be sitting in the middle of all of this and uhm, she certainly did..uhm perform..(interestingly enough, they spoke Romanian while discussing the situation ie, best place to make $$$)

The point of bringing this up is Mercury being in retrograde really does effect people in rather unpredictable ways.

Another example of this is a gentlemen of my age, decent man, perhaps drinks to much, mentioned to him a couple of weeks ago that he probably should not drink that much and drive, to which he replied "I only live 2 miles away"

A week later, he passes out behind the wheel and rolls into an intersection and is T-bone by another car. His 22 yr old live in girlfriend decides enough is enough and dumps him to move back with her family in PA devestating him further.

There is a rhythm to life, that is rather clear to me at this point in time, as Mushashi alludes to, and Solomon points out, the difference is discerning the rhythm and trying not to go to high, or fall to low.

And most importantly of all (imvho) is to discern ones own rhythm and to move with it one one discerns the tide is favorable.

It was simply odd at the time, Romanian is one of the languages I'm trying to learn the rudiments of so I know what it sounds like but did not understand what they were saying.

Let me add that is not really my point, it is the way life has rhythms to it and this past week has had a very odd rhythm indeed.

The other stuff is merely an outgrowth of that not the point itself.

Something like that Sand, there are also rhythms in groups and even areas of town.

ATM, imo, because of the retrograde groups of people are either seeing reversals of fortune, or sudden misfortune.

And that then becomes Infection, one can see this when one listens (but not intrudes) in conversations that happen around one, one person talks about say..a book they are reading, then someone unrelated will then begin discussions on..books.

I understand perfectly your point of view.
"what's so interesting about speaking..." was sarcastic not knowing your interest in this language,ok? it sounded something else and it bothered me,so i just commented this. Is there a problem? now it's all clear. Thanks for enlightening me.

In hindsight I can see my mistake in not making it clear that is why I alluded to it instead of maybe implying something that is unflattering to Romanians or Romanian speakers.
