Written by a guy with a girl's name and pic (they do that sometimes, fun fact, a few romance authors are actually men under female pseudonyms). And this: quote: You're so nice, and sweet, and you listen to all my problems and respond with the appropriate compliments. But, well, I don't really see a relationship in our future. It would be terrible if we let sex destroy this great friendship we have where I get everything I want and you get nothing you want.
If ALL a guy wanted was my ass and didn't care for my friendship then he deserves his tortured celibacy. Either man up and say what he wants or get the hell out. Or just get the hell out. I certainly don't want to listen to HIS problems and respond with all the appropriate compliments right back at him if he's not interested in me as anything other than a piece of ass to shove his **** into nor am I interested in him doing that for me if he's insincere and just trying to get into my pants. I don't think men are pigs, but whenever I see sentiments like that I start to reconsider until I remember not ALL of them are like that. Though I'm sure the guys who ARE that pathetic do assume all other guys are just as bad (kinda like the women who like bad boys think ALL women are just as pathetic as them). IP: Logged |

it is a satire ,it was meant to be funny. i agree with you that its the guys own fault if he isnt being direct, however thats not always the case. my first and only real experience of being in the friendzone wasnt like that, i was very very vocal about my feelings and intentions and i got strung along. i was lead to believe we might be headed somewhere. she told me things like"i'm not ready yet" or " we need to get to know each other better" ( we had already known each other a long time). soo long story short i was always there for her and waited patiently for the relationship i thought was coming and it never came. she ended up hooking up with and dating a random dude she met at a party, after that i vowed to never be in the same situation again.
