So I found myself recently comparing my ex to my current boyfriend, and thinking about how strongly sexual attraction plays a role in intimacy. I loved my ex to pieces. We had a lot of genuine heartfelt affection, and there was a lot of sexual tension but maybe not as much as with my current boyfriend. I was thinking of what it could be in our synastry. I know the composites were pretty similar. With my ex it was a love stellium opposite Pluto and Saturn. And with the current it's a love stellium opposite Pluto and mars. But in synastry I had a lot of Neptune stuff with my ex, plus sun conjunct moon.

The Liz Greene report on astro.com said this for my ex: "The sexual attraction between you and **** is likely to be very intense, and neither of you is going to want to loiter about postponing the day of fulfilment. What you have is the stuff of romantic novels, and certainly in the initial stages of the relationship you are likely to be very much in love (and lust) with each other."

With my current it says "There is a very intense sexual attraction between you and **** but it is not altogether a harmonious one."

So, I mean, it makes it sound like I was more attracted to my ex. But I wasn't as much. I didn't enjoy kissing him. With my current it's very different. We'll make out as often as possible. And one peck on the lips quickly leads to wanting to make out even when saying hello or goodbye. With my ex we both didn't like kissing. It was very strange. We definitely preferred affection over kissing. Maybe it was just more of a neptunian relationship?

I'm thinking that it must be the Venus opposite mars aspect in synastry with my current. If I think back to the guys that I've liked there was definitely more of a comforting sensual spark with the guys I had a Venus-mars aspect with. Even a trine or sextile. We just clicked that way. It's like they would know how I liked being kissed etc.

I think it's interesting to note that I probably loved my ex more than my current boyfriend. I mean I loved him to pieces. It must be because we had stronger synastry as far as soulful connections go. Yet I am much more attracted to my current boyfriend. It's just weird to realize that stronger attraction doesn't always mean that you love them more, because it's not the way we're used to thinking about things, and it doesn't seem to make much common sense either.

Yeah. Experience that myself.

Wife's Mars opposite my Venus. Wife's Venus Trine my Mars.

Be prepared for a lifetime of way excessive intimacy. I must admit that sometimes it does drive me nuts. Apparently, as I age, my testosterone level goes down and my appetite decreases. She never changes.

My Liz Greene says the exact same text. You've got to wonder about these generic reports.

Some interesting links that discuss the different aspects that make sex feel good:

I have felt the mars/asc aspect as well!
I had it with a guy where it was a double whammy. His mars in Capricorn squared my asc in Libra and my mars in Leo squared his asc in Scorpio. (no venus-mars aspects). So that's Asc square mars DW. Let's just say us wanting it 24/7 would def be the overarching theme if we had been in a relationship. It was definitely even more intense than Venus conjunct mars because I've felt that one too.

Her Venus opposite my ASC. Does that count?

Actually my Venus is Trine her ASC. Whatever it is worth.

Honestly, it's strange but my preference for sex is the loving passionate slow kind. Her preference is the feel good hot sexy fast kind. It's weird because I play the female role with the need for intimacy. She plays the male role with wanting to just get off.

No Venus-asc is romantic but not sexual attraction.
I've only read that kind of hot n heavy attraction related to mars-asc

For the Liz Greene report you have this one right?

"There is a very intense sexual attraction between you and **** but it is not altogether a harmonious one."

That's because you have Venus opposite mars with your wife too just like I do with my boyfriend
That's Liz greene's description for Venus opp mars in synastry.

I have had the other description with a lot of guys. The "loitering about postponing the day of fulfillment" one and even though she makes it sound so intense, whatever aspect she is describing doesnt feel as intense as she makes it sound because even though it's true that there was an urge to get to the bedroom, i don't feel it even indicates any kind of sexual compatibility. Just seems to indicate the presence of the urge or feeling. Which in some cases is not even that strong/overpowering at all.

Oo that is very interesting! Maybe it's because her mars opposes your Venus?

Therefore, I can only conclude that loving compàtibility has no assurances of sexual compatibility or fun compatibility. It seems a crap shoot. For example, it would seem to me that my wife would do better with the porn star type in bed but then it'll end after sex and then she'll want the loving type. And I'll be the reverse with wanting the gentle affectionate type in bed but get bored after that. Lol.

Venus opposite Mars was always one of my fave aspects - for sexual attraction. It's much hotter than the Venus/Mars conjunction - and the people are more in tune..
With the conjunction they seem to bicker more, because they are too similar
The opposition leads to compromise.

However, in my most sexually attractive synastry, we have: Venus opp Venus and Mars square Mars (both exact).
And neither of us have ever been this attracted to anyone else. Brangelina have the same thing. My Mars is also sextile his Venus - but out of sign.
It's a shame we do not click personality-wise at all or on any other level. I've lost interest for this reason.

According to the charts, the opposite is 2 degrees and the trine is 5 degrees. I guess 5 degrees is too wide to be meaningful.

I have the Venus-Mars-aspect with a guy, though it is wide. his mars-Jupiter-conjunction trines my Venus with 4-5 degrees. Usuall I wouldn´t think it is that strong, being a trine and a relatively generous orb, but the guy drives me crazy. He just somehow gets under my skin and slips through all my defenses. As I said it is driving me nuts.

(maybe there are other aspects in play as well though)

I wonder what it would be like to have Venus/Mars synastry with someone.

I've literally never experienced this that I can recall. I've had Venus/Pluto synastry and Moon/Mars but never Mars/Venus.

Guys... am I missing out?? lol.

Not really.
I've had Venus conjunct Mars where I was Mars and Venus. Both relationships were brief and not really worth talking about, and the one where I was the Mars, the physical part of the relationship was awful.

But then again, Venus is the ruler pf the 11th house and 6th house in my natal chart, so it's not a romantic planet for me to begin with. On the other hand, it could be different for you, since I think Venus rules your 7th house?

Yes, Venus rules my 7th and I don't seem to experience synastry with people in a sense of a true merge. I know that sounds odd but I always feel the "separateness" I always feel like I am relating to the guy's natal. Like my last partner was majority 11th with a Mars/Pluto and Mars/Saturn square and I experienced him as an 11th-houser and me as a 7th-houser and we as a problem, lol. My boyfriend now has Sun and Venus in the sixth and once again I am able to identify those aspects of his natal (and his Mars) far easier than I am able to distinguish our synastry. It must play SOME part though because I've never had a long-term relationship with completely terrible synastry that was all squares.

I don't know, maybe it's all the Aquarian-ness in my own natal.

In any case, it would have been nice to experience Venus/Mars once to see if there would be a difference. I just don't see how there would be, though. Does synastry come into play more over time? Because don't *all* relationships begin with intense physical passion?
