I'm currently living in a moderately-sized city but it's nothing special in the slightest. And, not only that, I'm increasingly unsatisfied with where I live. There's nothing exciting, no promise, no bright lights at night - it's a city good for the elderly and those raising children.I've always wanted to live somewhere really big and really special: New York, London, or Paris. The hustle of life there, it's so nice...back when I lived in the UK, whenever we'd travel to London, it was always so exciting. So I dunno, I'm young and beautiful, so maybe I should go somewhere suitable for my peer group. Where did you go in life when you were youthful and ready for the world? Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Tell all. IP: Logged |

I have so much Sag energy in me that back when I was younger I dreamed of being a technomad and even permanent tourist (where never in one country long enough to be considered anything other than a tourist, and can even give up one's own nationality, though I think most do it to avoid taxes and gain citizenship that best suits them while still traveling around to avoid taxation). Even to this day I love this song in the Pippi movie (always been a Pippi fan, too). I couldn't figure out how to pull it off, but I lived off the land and in the big cities, it was all good to me. I do feel myself slowing down a bit and I'd like to go back to living rurally, or at least in a small town (preferably with a big college as they tend to have a much more liberal attitude though with the penalty of higher prices aimed at the students and few jobs, again taken by the students). What would be ideal for me is a long story, however, so suffice to say that if I had my druthers I'd live somewhere very rural with alternative housing, energy, and a small farm with a place to fish & hunt small game. I live rural and the nearest village has a year around population of 402 souls. After roaming around and living in the cities, I chose to return to my birth place and get back to nature. I`m exactly where I want to be. If I want to go anywhere, drive to the city, hop a plane and zoom........ ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. EXACTY is what I am doing! Enough of this big city! But somethingexcellent if the city pulls you, then go for it! My mother will follow me to the very rural place I am aimed for, cause she is getting nutty...but I told her I will take her to Chi town, 3 hours drive to get her some excitement! IP: Logged |

I live in a mostly rural area but have a city of 100k within 4 miles of my front door. So in that sense I have the best of both worlds. Some things I like about the city, others I'm not so wild about, but one can only listen to crickets chirp and morning doves for so long then it begins to get kinda old tbh. City itself is "Beer City USA" with over a dozen craft breweries so there is always some festival or outdoor free concert or a named band coming through. IP: Logged |

I live in the city, It works for me now but maybe in 20 years I would to want settle down in the projects, lmao.. noThe country is cute but I like being close to everything. Also rural areas freak me out, you never see horror movies that take place in the city. Also you should ask your peer group if they'll still love you when you're no longer young & beautiful.

What'ssss une quebécoise I was born & raised in Montreal. Love the city, nightlife, diversity & the different people around. Plus living in the city is so fun, especially when you take the metro...You can encounter weird/special people haha. I remember once I visited some family in rural pennsylvania. Snooze fest....It was so boring, all I saw was mountains, walmart & amish people. The only thing I liked about the small town was stargazing at night. You can't see stars in the city.

Had the experience of both small town and big city. Originally born in big city Chicago, my parents moved us down to Arizona to live for many years. I lived in Tucson, AZ for about four years. Even though it has great food( fabulous chile rellenos) and beautiful mountain scenery, after awhile it got very boring and predictable for me. I wanted some place more fast pace with more excitement, so not to long ago I decided I was going to move to one of the biggest cities in the US...NYC. When I first made my way up here it was very overwhelming, as I was all alone and didnt know anyone here. In a nut shell I was fighting to keep my head above water, but I kept on each day. Here you must keep a positive attitude or this place can get the better of you real easy. But the great thing about this place is energy! Its exciting and thrilling to walk around in NYC with all the unique people you see. Its quite a combination of beauty and poetic tragedy all at the same time. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but for those who want a challenge to conquer. IP: Logged |

I am from a "slow city" in Europe and we had cows and horses not too far away. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 19, on a whim, and have stayed for almost 17 years. I am moving back to Europe soon because I am pretty sure this city will kill me if I don't. IP: Logged | |
