Are you satisfied with the result? Were there any complications?

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

I'd like to know about that, too.

(well, no matter the responses, I'll probably get a nose job anyway, when I have enough money).

Had a nose job almost 7 years ago, wasnt happy with the way it looked plus I had a deviated septum. The doctor I went to is located in Costa Mesa, CA. It took many months to actually heal, but I would say I am very happy with how it looks. Its subtle, but still looks natural, not overdone. Would recommend it to people only with a healthy self esteem, so to not go crazy with surgery. The only thing that was bothersome was the big dark circles around my eyes a few days after, but it goes away. Oh and becareful with glasses, should avoid them for at least 6 months till your nose sets properly. Use Arnica Montana for healing, or drink pineapple juice if you can, speeds up healing time.

Did you get the deviated septum from the surgery?

Goodluck with surgery if you decide to go through with it. Do take the time to find a doctor who will listen to you on what you want.

Its the reason I had the surgery, had my nose broken as child, was slightly crooked and difficult to breathe out of.

I am glad you were happy with the results, Libra dear! xx

I am afraid of surgery or I would consider plastic surgery. That would be my only reason not to.

Aww thank you Ami Anne, I will admit I was afraid before I went through with it. But I was so tired of not being able to breath out of my nose properly, that I told myself it was the only way it would get fixed.

This is going to be a very long post - just a head's up. (Wow, took me so long this thread had gotten a lot more replies! )

I'm in the middle of recovery from a breast augmentation. If anyone noticed me disappearing from a few talks over here, it was because the pain kicked in again, I'm tired all day. Really sorry for that! I'll bump those threads back up if you'd like (I know you were one of them, haha!).

Last year, I had a breast augmentation and one of the wounds became infected, so throughout the same year, I've had three more surgeries. One to get the wound cleaned and the implant back out, then two reconstructive ones. I'm finally back to where I started.

So yes, stuff like this can happen and there's a good reason you are warned for that at the first appointment. I've lost a year due to being ill and recovering... and still I've never regretted this. It was the best choice I've ever made.

If anyone is thinking of it, all I can say is: just make sure it's really what you want and not what other people expect from you. Sadly, it's often kind of a blurry thing. You're going to spend a lot of time, energy and money on it. Once you've done it, you can't go back. It's not just your body that changes.

Even as a teenager, I knew I wanted one. At first, I admit it was because I thought it was all I needed to "feel normal" again. That's why I'm sosososo happy that the doctor at the time told me to wait until I was 20 and completely finished growing. When I turned 20, I had just started college and was so busy that it was all put on the backburner. But when I graduated, I had a whole summer and I knew it was the right time. I'd been saving up since I was 18, so I had the money. I did it for me and that's why I've only had one angsty moment of "Sh*t, why do I have to do it the way that is not normal, why can't I be like all the other women?!" and for the rest, I never regretted it, despite what I've gone through. I knew it was going to be okay. When I see how slow the scars are recovering (and some in a really ugly way), I do wince, but I keep doing my best with scar treatment oils and such.

It's given me so much. I can look at myself in the mirror without criticising what I see (thought that'd be impossible with my chart ruler in Virgo). My posture has gotten so much better and I've gotten back to the gym in between the last two surgeries to train it. Feels amazing!! My back is a lot stronger, which I really need with my chronic back problems. And yes, I have noticed men looking at me in the gym, which feels bizarre for someone who used to be invisible and unattractive all these years. Sometimes I still play it off, thinking I've taken it the wrong way. I've done a lot of thinking and gotten help for some issues I still have. It was a turning point for me.

And no, they don't feel different from the real ones! At least not to me. Once they've formed to your body, you can't tell the difference. Those surgeons are really good at it. (This always comes up when people talk about breast implants, right? )

And yes, my chart screams "would have plastic surgery", haha. It's all over the chart.

@ Doux Reve: Sorry you're not happy with your nose. If you do choose to do it, it'll be worth it. Good luck

Thanks for starting this thread! I felt such a sense of peace here writing here. I'm glad your thread gave me a chance to say this! <3

Wow, that would've been scary, not being able to breathe properly! Totally get why you'd get one! It really does take long before it's healed completely, doesn't it? It's not "just" a surgery. Everyone always talks as if it's nothing, but it is.

Good tip about arnica and pineapple juice. So going to try that - mmm, pineapple juice

Were you nervous before the surgery?

Like the other posters, you did the right thing.

Meissieri, that's terrible what you had to go through. But that's great you don't regret your decision and are satisfied in spite of everything. I hope the scars won't be that bad!

Hi nice to see you around again! Glad you were able to get through that ordeal, for some reason we our are own worst critric when it comes down to body image. Its just so important for us to be happy with ourselves the best we can. I think in the end it becomes one of lifes more interesting(and well learned) experiences. With my surgery I was pretty nervous right before they took me the operating area I started to feel myself shake from being so worried. But it was all over after I closed my eyes, next thing I knew I was in the recovery area with my nose bandaged. Pineapple juice is great for the brusing and swelling to go down quickly, thank goodness it tastes good. Keep us posted on how everything is going with you

Hi there! I was hoping you'd reply. We really are hard on ourselves, are we? But yeah... once you see something you'd like to change, it's hard to get it off your mind. I think the surgery helped me to become happier with myself. I hope you can be as well, with or without the surgery.

So sorry you were so nervous, that must've given you some really mixed feelings going in there. You end up so dependent on everyone there, no idea what's going on when you're out. It was a relief for me too, though I wasn't nervous - I'd done some breathing exercises before going in. But yeah, injections are never going to be my favourite thing, haha.

It helps so much when it's not gross, right?! I'm drinking it quite a bit right now and I'll just wait and see what it does. I'm glad it worked for you!

Thanks :hearts: I'm still in pain and heavily on meds. If everything goes okay I may be able to swim in a cute new bikini on my birthday. So looking forward to that!
