A lot of the other compliments here wouldn't do much for me.. not sure why. I would still think it was sweet of the person to say those things, but it wouldn't make me all that happy.

And Padre - this will sound strange - but I almost have an aversion to being called charming or beautiful/bewitching. My reaction is: OMG what now? I have this looming feeling that things just couldn't end well with someone who sees me that way.
I even intentionally go out of my way to be scaringly honest with the person and non-charming.

Understandable, at this point in my life being charming is just a part of me, I read "win friends and influence people" years ago and it's just how I approach life and some people find it charming.

The downside to showing an interest in someone's life, but not making any moves on them (if they are female) it really confuses and creates wildly different reactions in them.

THAT is where I have to be careful with it.

Other sort of downer thing is I've been told I'm a good looking man, and not being married and never have been married also leads to less then pleasant stuff.
