Topic: Do alot of women just sign up on dating sites to get attention?

I know it may not seem like it but this is a serious question. Because from what I've seen most of the girls on them have no intentions of dating or meeting up with guys , alot of them openly say that in their profile. They say they are there to only meet "friends". Problem with this is most guys on dating sites actually want to meet a girl to "date" because they are on a "dating site", imagine that. Every guy I know who has ever been on a dating site complains about this. So why are soo many women on dating sites if they have no intention to actually meet up with or date guys they meet on the sites? I just cant wrap my mind around this.IP: Logged |

Interesting enough I've heard plenty of gay guys complain about the sites geared to them, like a guy will send a smiley and then block them for no apparent reason, will set up a place to meet (be it a date or just for sex) only to have the other not show, etc. 'Course where it can get really awkward is when people using it DO meet up... I highly recommend being totally honest: "I'm interested in having sex with as many females as possible in the shortest amount of time." Your odds with having sex with anyone in an Internet dating site are likely to neither decrease nor increase. They are zero, and will stay zero anyway. Never heard of anyone stretching genitals across fiber optic or copper cable. Like I say again and again, I don't know why you even bother with Internet sites. Don't use dating sites, half the people are catfish and the other half are too scared to actually hook up with someone they never met in person.I've met some really cool people on omegle like websites, I was doing it for fun and intended up having 3 hour conversations. *aquaguy in 40 years... There is some truth to what you say. Some women would only want to sign in a dating site to see if their profiles attract as many suitors. Putting myself in the shoes of a woman who is looking for a serious relationship, I don't think I would use the dating site as a serious venue to meet up serious guys. I met my husband on a dating site. He was my very first date using the site! It seemed most of the emails I got from other guys were highly suggestive in their first messages to me... it was really obvious they just wanted to hook up. I was honest in my profile - posted pics of myself with and without make up - posted current pics, etc. I was also honest about my personality.There are some good apples out there. Exactly. IMHO, most men go to internet dating sites wanting to have some kind of side-dish kinda fun. I don't think people that use internet dating sites are any different than everyone else in the world looking for a date. Some of them are rebounding. Some of them are desperate. Some of them are looking for love. Some of them are looking to hook up. Some of them are looking for marriage. Some of them are just looking for something to do. Then there are the real jerks looking to cheat on their spouses. I tend to be really shy with people initially so it's difficult for me to make friends and even more so to talk to the opposite sex. For me, the internet helps break the ice quite a bit. When I met my husband for our first date I already knew a lot about him and that our senses of humour meshed well so I was a lot less nervous!

Which would then mean..men who are not looking to just hookup, but are interested in the lady, should message her anyway and talk like a normal person not someone out to hookup. Perhaps there is something in the profile that is interesting, a unique skill or experience of what have you. Like they tailor suits, or mtn climb etc.
They are really not my cup o' tea either, but I do understand them. Also wanted to point out, Ami A mentioned she was surprised how into looks young men are on those sites, women are just as well, there are various stories about guys who post profile pics of themselves and had -0- responses, post a pic of some male model and their inbox in flooded.
