So I gave in to one of my addictions that I have not pleasured myself with for weeks...

ID

Watching a show called "Stalked: Somebody's Watching."

Raises hand. Eleven years, and he probably still drives by, convienent that he lives down the street, and I had the stupidness to actually "date" him, forgave him and let him be a friend for way, way too long.

But I want to say this.

I firmly believe it is a choice to be a "victim."

Yea, I am going to get flack on this one, however;

I learned quickly law enforcement could/would do nothing, till I was (hypothetically) dead or nearly so.

So I took charge. Thrice armed, have for now, the luxury of awesome gun laws in Texas, I am far from stupid, I watch my surroundings, always have, do not become preoccupied with the silly things women do whilst walking to and fro and, fortunatly for me, I just have a "f-off" vibe anyway.

And I almost want to make this a "woman" thing but I cant cause I know a few men who have been stalked too!

I guess what I am trying to say is that if we, unfortunately, become in the energy space of a creepo, then DO NOT become a victim.

O, and guess what?

Creepo finally did spend a night in magistrate a few months ago...not for stalking me, never mind I had death threats on voice mail and txt, never mind he has over the years damaged my property, tried to run me off the road multiple times, I wont even go on...to much..but he went to jail cause he pulled a knife on my daughter's bfriend as the last time he acted up, I called the cops and my kid and the bfriend showed up just in time to "detain" him till the PD showed up...

Tis a man's world, but nobody needs to be a victim of~

(sorry for the long run-on sentence...Mercury in Aqua overtaking me....)

But I still choose not to be a "victim."

Was watching a program on TV (something I rarely do anymore, as I already stated ) about the trafficing of women in the US....

I see, and empathasize with these young girls who get pulled into that mess, but I still think it is one's choice to be a victim....

I don't think the show you saw was very educational then if you don't know how many underage girls and young women (including some real survivors and fighters) get pulled into it.

That said, I see where you're coming from. However, the one time I fight off a man trying to abduct me for a pimp I got by more on surprise (ramming my coke into his face followed by pulling butterflies out and leaping at him (with the speed and agility of an enraged 15-year-old skateboarder) instead of running was obviously NOT what he expected...even so he was still far more an experienced street fighter than me and quickly adapted (even made an attempt to grab my wrists through he quickly pulled back seeing how fast I was and I at least nicked one arm when he tried), and while I see myself as having played that well (giving myself precious seconds for others to intervene) I still give thanks to my krew (gang of kids, some being real scrappy street fighters with criminal connections) racing up to my defense that made him leap back into his car yelling at the driver to drive and probably why he didn't just come right back and try it again with a gun.

Btw, not only was I, at age 15, not legally able to carry, but the last I checked Texas CCW laws I still couldn't carry legally today because I don't have a major credit card. Of course having a gun, while a valuable option I heartily encourage in many situations (even if it breaks the law), isn't going to prevent everyone from being a victim. Nevertheless, I'm glad you do all that you do for it surely minimizes your chances!

There is another side to this, I've know 2 or 3 females who seriously stalked some friends of mine.

They do it differently they weren't violent, they were very very creepy to the point of offering sexual favors to try and find out more about my friend, one of them anyway.

Sick sick stuff.

Major credit card?

I dont remember this being a requirement when I bought my 3, 2 years ago and the coolest one recently. Just a Texas ID and a questionaire, which by the way was so friggin stupid anybody with any brains would answer appropriately. Then of course they make a call and run a brief criminal history check on you.

But ya know, it not only minimizes my chances, but I really like the sense of security it provides me. Especially since, when I finally sell this house, I will be traveling and my sweet little Sig 380 will make me feel comfy as a kitten suckling!

And I don't have a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express, nor do I want one. Personally, I figure Texas threw this requirement in to keep the majority of concealed weapons in the hands of the middle (white) class and up while minimizing their chances that the NRA or SAF would sue them over it.

Though just to be sure I'm being understood, I said to CARRY on one's person, not to own. Simply being able to keep a gun in your home isn't that good protection (though better than nothing) against a stalker who can strike anywhere (many of whom love to strike at their jobs, etc, or somewhere to help cloud the fact they're violating a restraining order, or in fact where they figure she won't have a gun).

Ironically, I DO have a CCW permit in California, and it's darkly amusing to me that I'd never be able to get the equivalent in Texas.

No, the one who was stalked became a stalker.

Oddly enough.

You know I wonder if they run a credit check...cause lots of people have a major credit card, like me, whose is maxed out, lol! And I would think a maxed credit card says something about the person's character, in my case it was cause of a back injury and had to rely on credit while out of work. But if Texas is using this as a measure of an individual's responsibility to have a license to carry, that is just absurd!

Yea the righteous Aqua side of me, not self righteous, just plain righteous will definately come out!

Eh, I learned a lot from them tbh, especially what not to do in terms of dealing with relationship issues and the limits of herbal (see marijuana) use to gloss over those issues.

I've also seen some women who enjoy the sort of over bearing paranoia that the stalking/stalker brings into their lives.

It sounds sick, it was more their lives were fundamentally uinteresting for them so the stalker/stalking made it more interesting for them.

That sounds like I'm saying "aw, stalking is not all that bad", not so, what I am saying is some women are so low in self esteem that for them any attention, even unwanted attention, was welcome for them.

Merely an observation based on experience.

^ Padre.... that's super-ignorant... Guess you've never been stalked--- You're life is very limited, and your ability to imagine is very short. You have NOTHING of value to say or add unless you are capable of compassion, or you have more "experience" from having LIVED IT!

I'll keep that in mind.

And thanks for telling me what I actally witnessed, I actually did not witness, call it co dependence, or what have you, I know what I witnessed.

Yes, I was stalked for a period in high school and it was freaky...

The stalker basically thought I looked like his dead sibling.
I did forgive the guy and I was glad I never contacted the police..
However my sister found out and gave me a lift to school when my friend begged me to tell someone after he noticed too.
He sent me a letter to apologize... explaining himself.

Looking back now that was stupid of me, but I was 16 and too brave for my own good.
I was sort of in denial, not sure what I was going through mentally at that time..

There is absolutely nothing flattering about being stalked by a guy who can potentially be a murder...

Well, why doesn't one draw on that vast pool of experience one referenced and and answer ones own question via simple deduction?

Now who would have possibly witnessed such a thing? Here's a clue, I'm not a female and I'm not, and never have been a stalker.
