My fav is an arabic proverb my dear father always taught me of it, it's about ambition. I'll try to translate it.

"Whom afraid of climbing the mountains; Will always live his life between the holes"

May be this translation is more appropriate "Whom afraid of climbing the mountains; Will always live his life between the holes"
