Great question, Di. I think that when you are abused you can 'feel sorry" for people who abuse you and you kind of step into their shoes and worry about them.

You had to do this as a child, so you continue on. It is a safe way to deal with anger because you stuff it and avoid people being angry at you.

However, stuffed anger is very harmful for people.

Today, I felt a strong flash of insight that that is something I have been doing wrong. If someone abuses you, you push them off. If they keep doing it, you make them regret it.

How they regret it may be different but they don't get a free pass for it lol

Ami~

Anybody can have anger....does not mean one was "abused."

I truely be~lieve "anger" is a spawn of society...

One can have the best upbringing, the most awesome parents and still harbour anger, seen this over and over.

But, in these cases, looking back, they did not have the such awesome parents....no "abuse." but the way they were up~brought.

Anger...

yea...

My dear friend's friend is dying...of cancer...she is just a few more years older than I. My friend, 2 years younger than I.

All nurses.

My friend text'd me just the other night, she was afraid to check on her friend, we in San Antonio, they in Hawaii...but I told her she needs to do so, cause my friend is such a lovely, shining star of a soul and I told her she need do it for her, and herself~

Well she did...and the anger she recieved back from her dear friend dying of cancer was horrid....

Anger..yea....such a terrible thing...

Why I am SO, so, trying to re~lease mine, and not but into this crazy, low level, energetically, emotion we as humans expose and are exposed to.

sorry for the rant~

t~

Channel anger positively? Express it. Eat it. I dunno, don't let it rule you I suppose...find the source but don't be afraid of being angry in the process. I don't like the idea of distancing yourself from a natural emotion but at the same time, it shouldn't become a permanent fixture. That goes for any state of being, including happiness and peace.

There's always the shooting range.

I have a sand punching bag in my basement. Sometimes I end my practice with bruised feet and sore knuckles, especially when I'm upset.

And regarding the constructive office speech, are you f***king kidding me? Lol. Just kidding.

I used to have a boss in the old days who would come out of his office drunk on whiskey and puffing on his cigar (it was allowed back then), "what's you f***king malfunction you c**k s**king scumbag mother f***r. How did you f***k this sh1t up you half dead bird brain lowlife screwball?" Dude, what's the problem? What's he upset about? Oh nothing. Just two typos. unfortunately, the guy ran the place.

I am having a major epiphany. Anyone ever read Alice Miller? She says that the abused child will bury her rage. It makes sense because you have to stay safe, at all costs. That is how you survive. You have to be alert and on guard. Then when you grow up, you are still this way which brings a whole set of new problems such as anxiety.

That anger puts you into a victim role where you will get abused by others because you can't tell them to Eff off.

You lost that ability from your childhood and you could not help it.

So, you have to get it again, as an adult. The people who abuse you give you that opportunity.

Every time someone messes with you, it is an opportunity to use that anger which is God given.

People who are not abused will use their anger for self protection but abused people will roll over, usually.

God is showing me all of this as I put myself in His hands and ask Him to heal me.

I guess this gets me thinking of traditional therapy which I think makes people worse because it takes them away from their primal feelings and into a "walking head"

It did me and everyone I have even seen. That is my personal experience with it.

I think we need to express our anger where our Mars lies, especially for men...we need to get it out somehow and if punching, shooting at the range do it, I am all for it.

YTA if I had a boss like that, I would have ducked...

For anger, I'm trying to direct it into strong-arm energy in order to work and go to school.

I'm done with thinking things are hopeless and more focused on trying to get them done. I missed a lot of steps when "growing up", that I don't really believe I grew up. So, I'm trying to teach myself that. That probably sounds weird lol.

I think it is a bit useless to focus angry energy on people or situations that made you feel that way. It doesn't last and you will have to find different ways of feeding those fires until you end up giving your Self away. Instead, I think I try to remember what it is I don't want to be like or what it is I should avoid so I can make plans with improving self and becoming the "me" I'd like to be.
