This kind of look, you know.. lots of makeup, really noticeable fashion-wise, arched eyebrows, ect ect

Im more of a down-to-earth looking girl who doesnt look nearly as glamorous as these types of girls but im still decently attractive
i notice younger men (24 and down) tend to give me more flake for not looking like that than older males

Those are just guesses off the top of my head. While I no longer pay any particular attention to males under 25 I do have a 16-year-old in my life and she attracts boys (her own age) just fine with her "less is more" makeup philosophy. Come to think of it I don't much care for how many older men (some much older than me) like to stare at her...

I've always attracted nerdy types of guys when I was younger because they liked the mental stimulation and my look was very understated. I figured the guys that went over the moon about those types of girls would not really want to be with someone like me because I don't always look like a doll.

Different people prefer different things. Make up helps younger girls appear older, and it isn't necessarily something that women do for Men. Some may do it for themselves, or other Women.

I'm sure there are exceptions but in MY personal experience the ones who get all decked out only care about themselves too. Super annoying

Usually attracted men with a natural preference, an saw it as a good thing since I knew they liked me for me, an not some frills. Do workout an keep myself healthy though, thats always important to me.

Younger guys tend to go for "she's hawt!" which is the point of excessive makeup afaik.

Totally agree! It really depends on the guy- obviously people's tastes are going to vary. I think attention really comes down to not only a man's preference, but the image you project. Believe me there are some days I look like absolute crap but could care less and I got attention. Other days I could be made up to the 9's but project negativity and thus am avoided. The kind of attention you want though is important- totally get the 'vulnerability' you are talking about!

I've had the opposite experience.
I've had younger guys blatantly attack me about wearing make-up.
But my Venus is opposite all of their Plutos.. so that would explain it!

I think I make them feel out of control.. so they're not sure how else to react to me - sometimes.

I've never had any issues regarding make up with older men. They seem more neutral on the issue.

But I've had younger guys make all sorts of dumb assumptions like:

- Do you wear it to attract men?
- Do you think it makes you more sexual?
- Are you unhappy with your natural look?
- Are you one of those high-maintanence girls who spend their lives in the mirror?
- Does the fact that you are attractive and wear make-up mean I have to pay for everything we ever do together?

etc etc....

In any event - make-up is a very political issue to me.
I agree with lipstick feminism theories on the matter, although I'm egalitarian and don't necessarily identify with being a feminist...
