Your wife is amazing. Reading your stories really inspire me. Again, admiration n respect. Now I understand why you once said that your life is defined by her. True Self in Marriage house indeed, such a great example. IP: Logged |

He plays Bach and Mozart on the piano and starting violin. However, unlike his brother, he is athletic. He's a green belt in karate and a swimmer. He is also feisty and has a terrible mouth.
Baby boy sounds like quite the handful! LOL Your oldest boy looks so handsome in that second photo. IP: Logged |

Thank you for the Jackie Evancho links...gorgeous place, amazing performance, wish I could tell my daughter how I got that link! And I LOVED Jr's piano recital! MAGNIFICENT!! Your son is an inspiration, YTA, and while you talk tough and appear grouchy sometimes, it's obvious how you live and breathe for your family, and I think everyone sees and deeply admires that. Wish we could congratulate your wife and kids too but...whatever, we're the invisible cheering section. IP: Logged |

He got an invitation to perform at future Tim Janis (American composer) concerts. At least for us, Carnegie Hall, being a leading American establishment, is a big deal. It's the most prestigious classical concert stage in the US, and he was an assistant concertmaster. On Friday, he performed at Steinway Hall as a pianist. Anything to do with Steinway & Sons is a big deal for a pianist. On Friday evening, via e-mail (about three days early) read on Saturday morning, he was accepted Early Action admissions to Harvard to study Life Sciences and Computer Science, beginning the Fall of 2014. He was separately accepted into the Pre Med program, which is not common for an incoming Freshman. He has not yet been accepted to the Orchestra but we will audition. Harvard is kind of a big deal for us since it was his first choice, and since he was taken Early Decision and awarded good scholarship, it's an obligation to attend. Can we complain as parents? I let it be known that I was waitlisted by Harvard Early Decision and never attended, and my brother was outright rejected Regular Decision. We attended a different college. He has not yet been accepted to the New England Conservatory of Music, but we await patiently for the mid-February decision. Standards are terribly high, so it isn't a sure thing. After the basic SATs, the three subject SAT IIs, the ACTs, the DVD creations, the interviews, the damn essays.... it all has come to a screeching halt. Since he cannot attend any other college, he wouldn't need to submit any other applications. And I emphasize that he is an Aquarius Sun with Aspergers.
that's cool, your son is very talented. He is aspie deluxe IP: Logged |
