Of all of my family members, must admit that I Only connected with my Grandmother and my Leo Cousin.Grandmother used to slip me some $, and always sort of looked out for me. Or perhaps that is just the way I saw it. She was one of the few people who could read me like a book. Requiscat in Pacem Grandmothers, at least from my generation, were just so bad ass, they came from the Depression Era and put up with -0- BS. Going to her home for her Bday and talking with her, I'm sure no one going to Vatican City revered the Pope as much as I revered and still do my Grand Mother. I truly hope, today's generation never really loses that sort of respect for Big Momma. Though us kids always called her by her last name with Grandmother in front of it, even the wildest of her grand children would keep the younger kids in line when mentioning her IP: Logged |

RIP Padre`s Grandmother. I adored mine too and her birthday will be the 17th. A resilient, tiny in physical and big in spirit Saggie who told it as it is. She spoke , you listened and said yes Grandma M. Also a depression baby, she taught us girls to garden, bake, sew and be quiet in Church..... More importantly, to love thes e gifts of life ... I put my Christmas tree up or add a special ornament the 17th to honor her love for life, me and her Lord. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Aww. God Bless you both!!Grandmothers are like that big WARM blanket you wrap yourself up in during the Winter - just completely comforting. Everything just seems to work out for the best when they're around! I miss my Granny also. She died many years ago but her impact & legacy on us will truly live FOREVER. IP: Logged |

When my Saggie gift o' gab was going to far...she used to give me a look and put up a fist and I'd be like..."shut up now" She was the only one who could ever do that IP: Logged |

LovelyAries, yes when I`m feeling amiss, I take my Grandma memories out of safe keeping and like a soft warm blanket, wrap up in them and feel safe, loved and at peace. Padre, indeed! One stern look from Granny puckered my tummy and Ms Aqua knew nuff said. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Oh my yes, what is really cool looking back is she'd slip me a couple of dollars when we'd visit her, or she'd visit us I'd take it and go buy comic books that I still have today. We'd go over there and the whole clan would get together and celebrate, Grand Mother B was quite the hub of the various generations IP: Logged |

Mine passed on a couple of months ago. It's still as if she's alive.. Sometimes I pick up the phone to call her as we chatted almost daily and then realize afterwards that she's gone. IP: Logged |

I was also really close to my grandmother. She's awesome. I can't refer to her in past tense because I never actually feel like she is dead. Much love to you and RIP to your grandmother! IP: Logged |
