I'd love to hear opinions on this "matter". Thank you. So one of my "friends" has been exchanging emails (and some pics) with a man she met on an online dating site. It's been about 2-3 weeks. In her 3rd email she talked about how great it would be if they could talk on Skype. He didn't say anything about it in his reply. So in her 5th email, she gave him her Skype address and said that she'd love to talk to him. He ignored her request this time too. He says that he's 39. And in his emails he says that he's looking for a serious relationship n that he and my friend have many things in common. She asked me for my opinion. I said that I'd call it quits if I were in a similar situation. She said he might be just shy. I find it hard to believe. What do you guys think ?

He is probably shy but still why even try online dating which requires one to take effort in verifying your existence.

Online dating is a dual edged sword, perhaps they seem great, but then again, one may get catfished.To me, sounds like the guy is not serious and does not want to expose his face to a screen shot. IP: Logged |

Thanks everyone.That catfish thing has crossed my mind. That's one of the reasons why I think it's pretty suspicious that he just ignore the request. Hanna: she's 33 and he's 39.

Ouch. Yes, probably involved. That's weird. I was thinking they're in their 20's and most people my age are still grappling with self-identity, shyness, etc. at least to some extent. In that case I could understand not skyping. This one? No. IP: Logged |

Whenever I get an online profile all these men want to have e-sex with me and they keep trying and trying - and then I have to reject them.. and it just breaks my heart.
