I am always amazed at how astrology permeates to a quantum level. When I was young and smut was appealing to Pluto in Virgo people, it was full of plastic people, bumping uglys in the most sterile and least romantic way possible. AIDS was everywhere and everything sex related was kept at arms-length. Once the appeal evolved more toward Pluto in Libra folks, the internet was well on its way and people constructed their own brand of personalized amateur porn by recording and socializing their intimate moments on the internet. Finally as Pluto in Scorpio became the demographic, concepts like bait and switch, revenge porn, and the normalization of kink started to emerge.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed similar patterns, especially in areas people don't tend to want to talk about or acknowledge? What will Pluto in Sag and Pluto in Cap bring? Comedy porn, outdoor porn, porn sports? Business porn, mountain climbing porn, celebrity porn, granny porn (eek)?

From how far I was able to see it (*) I'd go with Scorpio with its abnormality and obsession with taboo and body processes. Possibly Taurus (senses & eating) squared Aquarius (needing a new idea, something creative)? Or ironically, Virgo influences given how "perfect" it tried to be in its disgusting display (if anyone gets morbidly curious I'd suggest reading about it on wikipedia rather than watching it, but trust me when I say it's knowledge you don't need, and coming from me that's saying something).

And I've noticed a big difference for porn aimed at men and women, and other than gender it's very similar for the gay markets (such as bara vs. yaoi, one primarily written by men for men and the other primarily by women for women). And I'll literally find straight porn by women for women more compelling to me than lesbian porn made by men for men.

I can definitely see Pluto in Scorpio involved in this influence too. I have never knowingly seen porn designed by women, but you usually assume it isn't depending on what takes place. Lesbian porn written by men is a sad joke, ask a lesbian. There are so many things about it that would not facilitate an enjoyable encounter. As you stated though, it is written by men, for men.

I agree, one needs a masters in forensic science and database programming to track down pornography with any kind of chemistry. For the most part it is some guy who doesn't know how to make his partner feel good, blessing his partner with a trip to the ER, while his partner somehow masters the art of making pain look somewhat less painful (I suspect vacations to a happy place, or a previous career sitting on fire hydrants).

I read an interesting blog about how these scenes take hours to film. After 6 hours of that, I'm not sure anyone would be able to muster up much chemistry. In straight porn, the women are never convincing for me, unless the guy knows what he is doing.

I think the main problem comes from sex being such a social taboo. While society sees sex as naughty, people will scarf it down any way they can get it. As sex loses its mystery, a challenge arises for porn to become enjoyable for more reasons than, "OMG sex!". Some of that is done by introducing shock or gorilla suits, some is done by playing on the intimate side.

I am an empath, so I connect with the actors and notice when even the slightest things are off. If both participants are not enjoying the encounter, I don't find it interesting. Having Moon and Saturn in Virgo (Saturn square Venus) I am also usually grossed out by porn. The flavors, textures, and smells become just as alive as the feelings I pick up. I find myself more often thinking, "congratulations, you now have chlamydia", "Oh ghad... don't put that in your mouth >gag<", or "you need to go to the freaking doctor... that is not hot, it's a medical condition!" more than, "Wow that was sexy."

I'm not sure many of us have high expectations of porn, but I don't think it's unreasonable to want to see people actually enjoying their jobs in an environment that facilitates that kind of product. Do I sound like I am considering opening a stray porn star rescue?

It's like watching romance movies but authentic ones .. a lot of times people want to see the extent of human affection. Not just trashy fake boobies all the time.

I think instead of exposing young people to unrealistic expectations we should have more couple porn and less unattractive porn .
