There is one person I interact with( superficial basis) who is really sadistic. His joy is the pleasure of hurting people. Do you know people like this? What do you think?

Not to answer my own question but my mother is sadistic. It is a kind of feeding of the pain of another person like a deep blood lust thing. What do you think?

I actually attract guys who enjoy the opposite, which means some people (strangers, not people who know me) assume I'm a sadist.

I often protect myself by being quite blunt, and I reject allot of guys. Sometimes it really turns them on. It's such a nuisance. So I meet these people occasionally without even trying. I have literally been asked by guys I don't even know to be their dominatrix. Like... 10 minutes into a conversation.

I'm not into it AT ALL, but my problem is that the kind of rejection I dish out is sometimes taken as encouragement. I'm not very patient with people, so I can be quite harsh, type "talk to the hand/get out of my space". My blunt behavior means that I sometimes attract people who want me to walk all over them. I don't enjoy that. I think allot of sadistic people have probably been subjected to the same in their informative years and so develop a sick fascination with it. It's the age old dynamic of the abused becoming the abuser. Because abuse is the only thing they know, they seek their own self-reassurance the only way they know how... Through humiliating and punishing others the way they themselves were victimized previously (be that psychologically or physically).

I've had this happen :\

I can't remember - Do you have Aries in your chart?

Ami - Astrologically.. personal planets square or opposite Pluto can lead to sadistic behaviour, from what I've seen.. mainly Mars/Pluto.

Sadism arises out of a mere frustration of not getting things done the way they want it to be.
Their desire and will surpasses a greater will and they are bound to feel dejected and lost and instead of letting themselves drown in their own sadness they take pleasure in diverting it onto others by inflicting pain.

No aries. But I'm a leo asc.

I do have sun and ascendant square pluto and venus sextile pluto though. Lol. Thank god I don't have the mars aspect as well. That would probably doom me!

Do you have any of these aspects Odette?

These people don't really know how to be alone with themselves for too long. This is a way to feed their pain body. That's how I feel. I think kids who bully a lot are like this.

I wonder how you sailed through tough times

I am so touched Rajii. Your words truly made my day

There are some wonderful people here like Randall, Lalalinda and IQ, who have given me so much encouragement that I was able to climb out of a dark hole.

I will always be loyal to them, as long as they want me!

Ami -

My questions to you are:
1. Do you have siblings,
2. How did your mum treat them;
3. Did you fight back from your mum's treatment.

I deleted my original post because I've rethought what I said and think I was a bit off track.

There would be some overlap between psychopathy and Sadism but they are also have mutually exclusive elements too - psychopathy: lack of empathy versus sadism: almost an extreme empathy and confusing pleasure with pain.

I think what Sybil said was right, abuse creates it and it confuses the victim about pain and pleasure and associating pain with pleasure; so they seek out a victim to abuse as they know what it feels like and gains pleasure from pain. I think the best victims are the ones that fight back as it is a challenge and pleasure to override their wills - no satisfaction like from hard work and conquest.

And add to that one more question please,
4.If given a chance, would you forget but not forgive her or rather forgive but cant seem to forget her inflictions at all?if so how would you compensate for all the trauma incurred?
