Manifestation is weird. I am a single mother and a few months ago, I was praying for something that didn't question my right for sole physical custody for my daughter.

Later, my ex is accused of child abuse by his oldest daughter. I don't believe the charges because I know how they both are, but it was weird when CPS was interviewing me and a detective; one said that this was in my favor and the other said that my stepdaughter said she was doing this for my daughter.

It's rough. I didn't pray for something bad to happen.

Well, I don't know your situation, so I don't feel like I can really comment on your situation on your ex. My first instinct is that no one should be accused of something they didn't do (the stigma! the punishment!). But I also realize that this was not your doing and that it may be out of your hands. I also understand that you may have very legitimate reasons for seeking sole custody of your daughter.

I think ideally all children should have both parents, but that is provided they can be a healthy influence in their lives. Your daughter comes first.

Anyway, I don't know the situation so won't judge it. So all I can say is:

I hope everything works out for the best!

I'm curious about how the process works. How does one get a detective involved? Was illegal drugs involved in the allegations in any way? Or was 911 involved, particularly with a cry for help from an assault in progress? Was this about instant or did it take weeks or months before anyone showed up?

And what state are you in? It may make a difference. One guy I know (and trust, despite that I would've automatically been skeptical had what he said come from someone else) described a hypervigilant CPS (actually DHR, or Department of Human Resources which has a "child support" division) and police in Alabama that shocked me (though it was possible the insane persecution was inspired by racism). Unfortunately he was too angry over it to describe the process to me.

Well, a few months ago, my ex blew up on me because I told our kid to not talk about my boyfriend to her dad(he is notorious for blowing up facebook about how much he hates me, etc, whatever. will sometimes call or text me to vent his hate). He had threatened me before to take her when she's visiting and move somewhere I can't find her, so I started freaking out that he was going to do that again, based on his clipped tone about if he's going to take her before my sister has her wedding, which my daughter is a part of.

Anyway, it's not a regular abuse case. To explain this in its entirety would be severely long because I'd have to detail my stepdaughter's history and character, as well as my ex's. But there are two separate cases against him. I was already evaluated to see if I was fit to take care of my daughter. The second case, my ex could go to jail for 10 years or so.

I'm just kind of numb right now. I feel depressed enough to mess up school, sane enough to get through work, but I want to go home, curl up in a ball in bed, and sleep for years.

For the most part.

I've known for a long while that I've had dissociation. I was recently doing research and specifically, I do go through having dissociative amnesia.

I'm going to be going to therapy soon. I didn't realize the severity of my dissociation until recently.
