Is it because a newborn looks so strange? Thing is, the mom has so many chemicals throughout her body released during labor.
These can have many effects on her CNS. She could feel intense love or perhaps depression, anxiety, fear.
It depends on the woman and her situation.

You can get pregnant - even as a virgin, you know... and since you're into horned mates - i'd take it yours won't be so - messiah like. Though, as his mother - you should love him none the less. He might look a bit unusual with horns and all of that, but - that's less of a problem this days (being different is more acceptable now) and through the power of love - he can grew into a good nature creature. Like Hellboy - for example.

Yes, God puts this into the parents. Breastfeeding is an amazing bond, too. I can't describe how wonderful this experience is. It is like eating chocolate. There are no words for it lol------------------
