I am a bit of a snob when it comes to height..

I just find it very attractive. That and dark hair and eyes. My guy is 6'3 without shoes. Swoon <3

Because they're bainwashed

I'm ok with shorter men as long as the difference isn't very big. But they better not have a complex about it.

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

I was thinking about this last night.

I was feeling very warm inside and heard the ticking of my clock and it came to me.

It's True, I do like a Man Taller than myself.

And it is just like this picture says.

I like to be close to a Man's Heart.

It depends! My husband is 6ft and he is considered tall. Now im 5ft 4, average height. But i can still kiss him whenever i want. I mean kiss him on his lips not his chin! So this works fine.
When i was a bit younger i was dating a very nice guy who must be atleast 6 ft 3, a very tall guy. On our third date taught me to ride a Royal Enfield n kissed me while teaching me. Later when he asked me to kiss him,i just couldnt. I felt humiliated cuz i was sure i couldnt reach him. Even though he adjusted n leaned on the bike i still couldnt. He waited almost 20mins. Awkward.I gave him a hug and ran away from the spot. Even though i liked me a lot. Maybe had i been a bit older n wiser. He was a very cute Taurean. Also ppl were shocked when they came to know he was in love with me for many yrs. All cuz of our height difference!
I know this incident sounds silly but it could go either way.

This is SO TRUE. I prefer an older man. Not too old to be my dad but within an acceptable range. And I am more into looks than height to be honest (physical attraction wise).

Greatness of a man lies not on his height but his strength to overcome adversities

--One reason is the taller man /tends/ to make the woman feel more feminine. Next to a shorter man she might feel more manly and thus feel less desirable. The insecurities can take hold.
--Another possible reason is she wants to wear heels of some sort, lets say the max heel she'll wear is 3", she chooses someone at least 3" taller so her heels don't stand out in comparison.
--Another like you stated, subconscious, height is an indicator of dominance so part of it goes thousands of years back. Taller women likewise are typically seen as less feminine than shorter women, generally speaking. So the taller the man, the more masculine, the more dominant he seems, all other traits being equal.
--And then there are the shorter than average women who want a very tall man, taller than average, to compensate for their lack of height.

All reasons above I've heard and seen from women.

Me, I prefer someone who's my height, if i have a choice in the matter, and can custom make a partner
I don't care if I wear heels and it makes me taller than him. I don't wear heels every day, or even most days. Already i feel pretty tall and i have a shorter torso and longer legs. I'm not self conscious about my height so much that I need someone much taller to compensate, as I'm average. Sometimes around shorter women I feel less feminine, I'm not gonna lie. But what am I gonna do, this is my height, I'm not gonna have a complex about it. But I do feel more comfortable around women who are my height or a bit taller, and same for men, my height or a bit taller.
It has been the case that I've seen a man shorter than me and have found him attractive, but he's always with a woman who's shorter than him. So at this point (this point being a few years now) I don't even notice shorter men anymore as I figure they wouldn't be attracted to me based on my height, plus their partners are always so tiny (thin, small boned) and I can't achieve that size/look any longer.

Height doesn't matter. I have never preferred tall men.
I'm 5'2" so most people are already taller than me anyway.

It's hard dating a guy that's too tall. Personally I don't like a guy to much over 6ft, maybe 6'1 if they aren't too stalky because you get smothered when you cuddle, their arms and legs weigh enough that can be uncomfortable at times and it gets to hot to sleep next to them....and try getting up in the middle of the night when they are laying on you....you feel trapped and claustrophobic. My preference is 5'7-5'10, they are not so big that they squish you, you can still freely move instead of feeling trapped, that's a saggy nightmare!

I've always felt the same way, and actually got into a few arguments with short men elsewhere, who insisted that they will never have a relationship, because all women love tall men. they're usually the same men who want a young, gorgeous trophy on their arm - one loves to go on about his ex-girlfriend, who was over ten years younger than him, and still in college.

That's what had me contemplating just responding here with, "Why do men prefer young, beautiful women?" Only that isn't the truth for all men.

Aquaguy, that was rude and crossed the line. Having your own opinions about women is fine, but lines like that are insulting.

Never dated anyone under 6 feet tall. I just like the height and feeling protected although I tend to be the protecter and defender regardless

EDIT Just read your response Moonwitch all that you said is so true!!

My great grandfather was 6 feet 7 inches tall;
and great grandmother was 4 feet 9 inches tall. :
