I'm so sorry, Teasel! I only just now noticed your comment! Anyway, since you're where you're at, I would say that's probably a wolf spider? It's hard to tell by the picture, but that's my best guess. You shouldn't have hobo spiders where you're at, and although wolf spiders can deliver kind of a harsh bite, they're not known to be horribly dangerous. But I can understand if you don't want them inside! IP: Logged |

The Wolf is hairy. I know because I was bitten by a brown recluse and so got very paranoid about spiders. The Wolf is very distinctive in wolf ways, so to speak. I saw one of these, too. They are very big and very distinctive in terms of the hair--just gross lolTeasels does not have this wolf look. I was so blessed cuz I just have a little scar on my knee from the brown recluse and I waited 4 days doing natural things before I went to the ER. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? That's true, Ami. Something else that I've recently found out is that not all wolf spiders look alike. We have some in our yard that are actually black(ish), and smaller than the ones that people normally see in pictures. They're not particularly hairy. I guess that they look differently, according to their habitat. I also had to do a lot of research about it, because I was wondering what they were, and because of the hobo spider issue we have here. But at any rate, even if it's just a garden spider, I don't think that hobo spiders or brown recluses are to be found in Teasel's neck of the woods (as far as I'm aware). BUT...when in doubt, you can always trap a spider in a jar, fill it with rubbing alcohol to preserve it, and bring it in to your nearest university to have it identified. There's a specific protocol involved with that most times, and occasionally it has to be mailed in if the nearest university doesn't offer that service. I've never had to do it, so I'm not completely sure about the details with all of that. IP: Logged |

Sorry I can't be of more help, Teasel. Hopefully it's just a nice, polite garden spider who accidentally wandered in. Did you notice the type of web it had, or if it was very fast, or whether it had banded legs (i.e., the stripes that most spiders have on their legs)? IP: Logged |

Yep... Looks like a wolf spider to me. Anyone ever see house centipedes? Ewwwwww.... I had them at an old house. Man they look freaky...and faaaaaast. You think spiders can be fast. The centipedes eat spiders. IP: Logged |

Oh, good lord. I would vastly prefer our small wolf spiders (they fight the hobo spiders) to creepy centipedes! But then, our wolf spiders are fairly small, compared to some. IP: Logged |

Gaahhhh! I think I recall you mentioning that. I am so happy that all you have is a little scar from it. Seriously dangerous, those spiders. (Not meaning to freak you out, Teasel...I don't think you would have them where you're at). I'm grateful that it didn't become a serious health issue for you, Ami. Cuz I love ya, and those spiders mean serious business. IP: Logged |

I got bitten by a brown recluse on my knee, THANK GOD. With all the exposure I had to have, I am glad it was not higher I was blessed because I tried to heal it naturally for 4 days to no avail. I figured out what it was from the computer and told them at the ER but they poo poohed me until they looked and said yes it was. I have a small scar but was truly blessed it was not worse. It was funny but I put on a pair of lounging PJ pants to drive my children to school A voice told me not to do it but I figured maybe an ant was in them or something but it was a brown recluse lol ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Thanks everyone for the Welcome Back! I think that sometimes we all need a break from the internet, heh. I literally didn't open my laptop for two weeks, and I've quit smoking. I guess that Neptune on my Sun, opposite my Moon, and square my NN/Neptune can have some interesting effects when it comes to escapist behaviors (including too much time online, smoking cigarettes, too much coffee, etc.) and killing off the ego, if that makes sense. Trying to spend more time Being Present, in that sense. But It's lovely to be back!

Thank you, sweet Doux. I miss you as well. All is actually pretty well for all of us, we're still intact and together, and apparently not relocating (for now, thankfully). My son is enrolled in Montessori for this year, and I've gone back to work again (yay!). So...mostly very good changes, but so many personal challenges. Transiting Neptune sitting on my Sun, opposing my Moon, and squaring off to my NN/SN/Neptune has been a trip indeed. Especially while Pluto was steadily opposing my natal Saturn. What I've learned about myself has been very difficult, and even more difficult to actively address. Robert Hand wasn't joking when he said in Planets in Transit that Neptune conjunct Sun can either lead to increased escapism, or a voluntary, complete disintegration of the Ego. Seriously. I've had to realize that my struggle in this life is very Piscean/Neptunian in nature (go figure, with my Sun/Neptune/NN configuration), and if I allow myself to escape and not be PRESENT in life (whether it's too much wine in the evening, too many cigarettes, too much time online, or just letting the chatter of my mind get out of hand), I am choosing a very low road indeed. Even though it seems very harmless at first glance. So I've been seriously trying to limit my time online (many will notice that I haven't had a Facebook account for quite a while)... I quit smoking. I stopped drinking altogether. I don't drink much coffee anymore, but I drink a lot of green tea. And now I have to work on the inner stuff. My thoughts, focusing on the positive and loving, healing energy rather than festering on thoughts of a lower vibration. Whew...that's a lot to unload here, and I might come back and edit it out later... But that's what's been happening for me, and I think that my son and husband, not to mention my own Soul, deserve my full attention...not a person divided between the desires of my Ego and the needs of my spirit. I know that all sounds a little...erm...yeah. Neptunian, heheh. But that's what I've been up to. But yeah, I really do miss you. IP: Logged |
