I wasn't sure how to title it. It's also probably a bit of a useless post really.

I'm just having one of those days where I reflect back... Even 9 months ago or especially 1 or 2 years ago I would have never ever dreamed that my life would be the way it is.
Life is going very well for me in the last 2 years.
I just think about people who have crossed my path, left, or became significant. Like barbiegirl19... I can still remember when that name was all she was to me and I would have never seen it. I would have told someone that they are crazy if they said, "that will be your wife".

Or my job. When I was hired I had my eye on this position. But, I thought it was just a waste of time to even think about it.
Things like that...

I'm just having one of those kinds of days. It's nice!

Plus, I'm the kind of person that even very negative endings have some teaching for us. I do the same thing there... Just in awe of things that I've learned... How relationships have changed, began, and ended.

How it's shaped me, changed me, and changed my direction in life.

DeepFreeze, definitely not a waste of a post- I've been thinking about this concept for several weeks now!

I'm kind of stunned at how much my life, myself, and my ambitions have changed (I think the transits really reflect this). Never would have thought a piece of paper would change the direction of my life so much.

Unfortunately I can't say my life is going well, but I have learned tremendously about persevering through the bad and ugly, cutting loose of people, things, and situations that no longer suit me, and be more open accepting changes the universe unexpectedly provides.

It's funny, during the first few years of my Pluto transit I didn't see or feel any differences. But now I pretty much woke up one morning and realized wow have I changed from 2010.

Yes!
I've had ugly and horrible things in not so distant years but now... 4-6 years later I can see how tremendously positive that they really were!
It's crazy. At the time I thought I was in some of the lowest points, and maybe so, but wow did they seem to have a completely different purpose (or just effect) than I ever thought of.

It's real motivation I think, for people who are feeling down on their luck.

Yes.

Story along those lines...

When I was in high school, I would buy art magazines, clip out the pictures I liked, and tape them around my bedroom. One magazine featured super realistic wax sculptures, and there was this one particular statue of an older man, shirtless, with thick-rimmed glasses on. I stared at it for a long time wondering if I liked it or not. Then I decided that I loved it, so I taped it at eye level next to my full-length mirror.

NEVER would have guessed, at that moment, that my future husband would look just like that man. But he does.

Yeah, the many butterfly effects of my life can astound me and I realize that for all I think what I figure I'll be like and doing at age 50, I'm almost certainly wrong.

Enjoy it! What a wonderful feeling <3

I understand where you are coming from. Eight years ago I was miserable and had been miserable for years and years before that. I never thought I'd be where I am now. I refuse to take a second of it for granted.

Aww thanks! Maybe just that my tastes in men didn't change much from when I was 17 to 22?

I hope it gets better soon...sounds like you are well-equipped to deal with all the crazy stuff life dishes out to us, so

That's like the best we can do.

Funny though~ if someone told me, at any time in my life, what was in store for five years in the future, I would have been totally amazed, disbelieving, shocked. Like when I posted that picture of the statue who looked like my husband, I was completely convinced I was actually going to marry my then-boyfriend.

LOL...I've stopped feeling that sure of anything.

Yes... I just look back at how much hell I have been through since 2004 and am going through now and I get disheartened but I have to believe better days are ahead... My life can only get better.. Something has got to give.

One of the best facilitators for growth is reflection.

I wrote myself a letter in elementary school that I am going to open this summer. I'm really excited to see what it says! Though I think it will probably just be something like: " when I'm grown up I will be married, have two children, a house with a white picket fence, two cats, two dogs, live next to my best friends and a work as a vet.". But we'll see. Maybe some grains of wisdom will trickle down through time.

Other than that I don't generally like to reflect too much on past things. Most of my energy is focused on planning for the future, really. It's a shame, but I'm usually more excited about what's around the next bend than what is right now. I'm jealous that you guys seem to have learned to appreciate what you have. I'm by no means ungrateful in my life, but I could probably stop to breathe and look around me more often.

Then do.

We should all do that more often.
It doesn't come naturally for most of us, I believe. It's good to slow down a bit and just enjoy the moment and feel gratitude for all that is there.

Had one today. Yesterday was probably one of the worst days of my life. The good news is that the day is over and I can move forward and plan ahead.

Good!
If you have that birthdays book and believe it (I do), it's pretty much like my life mission to let go of past things. More than that but the book really emphasized that for me.

It's good to reflect back once in a while and gauge your growth, be amazed at how life transforms. I did it yesterday with astrology.

However, in my view to look back at "yesterday " with regret or any other similar view is only robbing you of today's happiness.

I admire that outlook. It's not always easy.

That's also why I don't like to take work home or home to work if possible. You are only allowing one to rob you of the other.

But anyway... Reflecting when it happens is just awesome. It really makes you feel wonderful that you are moving forward, if in fact that is what is happening.

Extremely late response, but which book are you talking about? I might have to check this out.
