Did your father also die suddenly when you were young? And your children's father died when they were young? I know you are alluding to some other deaths but not sure if I should even ask.

Almost feels like a family curse, though?

Gosh, no Faith, it's mostly Grandparents.

My Brothers were the only off ones, but Heaven Knows they weren't downstream boys.

I'm sorry to hear about this Ellyn. Hopefully your family can be a strong support system to one another. Your mom will especially need it. Speaking from experience, traumatic events like that can be extremely hard to recover from.

Peace to your brother, yourself and family still here.

Hello Ellyn. Just saw this. I am so sorry. I hope you feel him strongly with you. I cannot imagine what it is like to stay behind. But it is not really staying behind. I am simply kind of short for words. Even though I had my share of pain, i haven't yet felt the sword of death. It is hard to know someone is still there even though he left such a hole. Knowing that he will never die, not really. I wish we should never be parted from our loved ones, even if it is illusionary. But illusion can be very hard and real. Perhaps he'll come back somehow, someday. I wish you all the best.

No, while my other Brother was extremely present for ever so long, (in fact I felt him just now) and traumatically disposed; (I don't know if you have ever experienced Vertigo,) this one went well.

He feels fine.

Now, my Mom, on the other hand...

She's the one I dreamed about the night it happened. She's having it rough.

But don't worry, Family surrounds her, so it is as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

It was just so surreal when it first happened, I had spoken to Mike's Mother (the friend who did this) and commemorated my Brother's Birthday by putting the Balloons on my Eternal Lighthouse Calendar, just that night.

She was making a shredded Carrot Salad for him down here. So that's like thirty miles from where this happened.

Didn't seem possible.

Crap, she gave me a ride to town on Larry's Birthday. We had been on the phone making those plans. That had to be the Strangest Trip Known to Man.

Not good.

Well, to answer you both, death as a general case doesn't quite touch me in the same way as most.

Cause I've been There, and I Know.

It's not a bad place, so I have no fear.

I hope you are okay, T?

I really want to Thank all the people who responded to this Thread.

There are times in life when we all need to pull together, and I found Great Solace in the fact they we did.

Thank You.

Ellyn
