Topic: How Do You Handle Disgust With Service

So DF and I decided that instead of wanting breakfast we wanted to get Wendy's. We also wanted to see how badly the river in our city had rised, we've been having crazy storms and the areas near the river had been asked to evacuate and we were curious. Anyway we go to Wendy's and I order a sandwich that has cheese and asked for none, I'm SEVERELY lactose intolerant and can't have any. We go and pick up our food and are getting ready to leave. Before we leave I checked my sandwich and guess what's on it? Yep you got it, cheese. I was soo upset and angry that despite him saying clear as day and our receipt stating no cheese, they still insisted that I have some. So he goes back into the crazy busy establishment and they give him a second sandwich, I of course checked it again and guess what's on it? You're on a role, yes cheese and more cheese at that on it! I was seeing red I was so p issed off. So he goes back in a final time and I check it don't see any yellow cheese and we go home. We're just about to eat our food and I check it again and guess what they snuck on it again? White cheese!!! Are they trying to kill me? Make me suffer excruciating pain? I was so upset that I called the corporate office. Just as I was writing this the district manager calls me and was extremely upset, he just so happened to be in the area and is gonna stop in with the store manager, so that location is getting nailed and of course I got free food.  What would you do? I normally don't get upset but I can't have dairy and it should have been handled that way. Despite it being annoying it was pretty funny, like some sick joke  I hope I made someone laugh LOL. Anyone have any crazy experiences like this? Love to hear them all IP: Logged |

I was actually nice when I went in. Yelling and making a scene doesn't accomplish much imo. My brother-in-law once walked into a place because his burger was greasy. He squeezed the grease out onto their counter and said, "Would you eat that?" IP: Logged |

That is just messed up. I wouldn't go back there.
Here's something odd; when my mother and I go to a fast food restaurant, especially Jack In The Box but it's happened at random others, too, they forget part of her order. They rarely, if ever, forget any of mine and most the time it's correct but my mom's?? It must be that Neptune thing again, because 9 times out of 10 her meal isn't on the tray. It's just strange it's always hers.
And, when we go to a restaurant with waitresses, they will bring everyone's order out first then hers last. I don't get why this karma exists but it seems to. IP: Logged |

That's so horrible! Is she older? Maybe they think she'll forget and don't give it to her..? I hate making a scene but one had to be made and I wasn't very nice when I left a voicemail, but it was very necessary. What if I had a severe allergy and the moment I touched it I had a horrible reaction lol. The district manager wasn't happy at all. I won't be going back there ever again. IP: Logged |

That sucks. Seriously wonder how people do their work sometimes. Are they blind/deaf or what? I can understand being tired/overloaded but come on, three times? From my son who has worked a lot of fast food jobs, if the owner is terrible, the service is terrible and the workers are nasty.------------------

Hahahaha I don't take bs very well when it comes to my food LOL. I wish I were there when they got the call from the DM. Very true Ami. Some of these fast food chains just don't respect people. They hate their jobs and take it out on the customers, not cool. The DM said that location hadn't had any bad comments in almost 2 years, wonder why? I had to sit on the phone alone with an automated machine for 5 minutes to get to leaving a voicemail, wonder if that's why...  LOL IP: Logged |

Yeah, I wasn't going to go off on the guy I approached. He clearly had nothing to do with it. Plus he said VERY clearly, "no cheese", twice.
I try to make sure that I know who needs yelled at.

THREE times?!?!??!Yeah, I would have been an unhappy camper. I wouldn't ever go back there, thats for sure. I mean, the least they could have done is put goat's cheese on it.  I go through the same thing with dairy, soy, corn, and gluten as well. I pretty much have to order something not on the menu to ensure I won't get sick later. I doubt they even do it on purpose because around here they would be nice to her because she is older. I think they make mistakes and for some reason it's with her food more often than with mine. I bet they make a lot of random mistakes everyday. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I have the feeling it's the same at this Wendy's. It could be they just don't want to take the time to make a special order so someone keeps putting a hamburger from the place where they keep several already made into your sack. I doubt it is because they specifically want you to have a hamburger with cheese. At Taco Bueno they sometimes forgot to put the small bag of tortilla chips that went with one of their platters. I've had that happen before. Oh and get this. I just bought two boxes of Nexcare Waterproof bandages yesterday, got home, went to get a bandage out of one of them, opened the box and was surprised there wasn't one bandage anywhere inside so I had to take my receipt, drive back to where I bought them which is, fortunately, pretty close, and get a refund. When I told the guy at customer service what happened he just go really quiet and didn't say nothing lol.

Hahahaha I know. They're just lazy. People are supposed to give great customer service, not anymore I guess lol. That would make me so mad. People do they a lot at drugstores, steal and leave the boxes behind. Terrible. IP: Logged |

I've always worked in the service industry. Sometimes no matter how hard you try it's just way too busy to remember everyone's special requests, esp in a fast food establishment. Sometimes in a bust hour things are just pre made. It's fast food, not a restaurant. The least they can do is apologize and give you free food. Though three times is ridculous. At that point I'd ask to see the manager because usually they care more. Also just a random worker might just scrape off the cheese a manager might listen that you're lactose intolerant because if you have a reaction it's his ass on the grill. And make a new one. Most kids that work at fast food places really really don't care. Or are high. Or both. IP: Logged |

So I went back to redeem the free meals. It was very slow. Myself the only costumer waiting.
I asked for a sprite and ended up with two brown drinks and no straws.
I'm laughing about it because it's so stupid. How do you mess up soooooooo much?

Honestly, I think they mean well in that they want to get people out quickly. I did get it quick. But, I think people will appreciate an extra minute or two wait and have it be correct.
