First off, let me wish you all a wonderful Holiday season. Tis the season for a reason! So anyone have big travel plans this year or next year for that matter?Me and my wife always do a national getaway first followed by an international getaway. For a national getaway this year, its down to either hitting Gros Morne in Newfoundland (I seriously think this place could very well belong in Tolken's Books): http://www.newfoundlandlabrador.com/PlacesToGo/GrosMorneNationalPark Or Going Northern Lights hunting in the Yukon . http://travelyukon.com/Explore/Northern-Lights We are leaning towards Yukon! Then, for our international trip we are thinking about hitting some place warm and IMO Puerto Mosquito in Puerto Rico. Now the name of the place might not seem all that appealing but rest assured... The place isn't a haven for mosquitoes Lol! It is however, the world's largest bioluminescent Bay. http://perpetualexplorer.com/2014/03/24/bioluminescent-puerto-mosquito-bay-vieq ues-puerto-rico/ The water literally glows blue at night! Reminds me of Pandora from Avatar. Its the perfect place to inspire romantic thoughts.
So... What are you guys up to? Got any big trips planned? IP: Logged |

No big trips planned for me. I'm just spending the holidays with my family. I hope you and your wife have a pleasant trip and don't forget to take lots of pictures (if they can capture the moment)! The northern lights in Yukon look incredible. I can only imagine the feeling of seeing them in real life. IP: Logged |

Oh VERY nice! It should be one heck of a trip! And an expensive one I bet Lol! The COL (Cost of Living) in U.A.E is quite high compared to most metropolitan cities around the world. quote: Originally posted by MoonWitch: Your trips sound absolutely amazing! Oh don't knock it! Some hotels really do offer you the bang for the buck! Me and my better half stayed the night at a Hotel Downtown after a concert last weekend. It was friggin amazing! The lobby wasn't all that spectacular but the room was perfectly awesome! Very... Couples oriented. The room also had a Waterfall based Massage shower and Tub; Which was a hit with my wife; But the best part of bath Tub room was the fact that there was nothing but a glass panel separating the bedroom from the washroom. *Insert Impish Grin.* Yes that hotel will be receiving a lot of my business recommendations Lol! So we have decided to extend the Yukon trip and make it into a mini Arctic Expedition .Wifey and I are going to be doing a short expedition trip all the way near the Canadian Arctic Circle. As such, I have been buying and extensively testing various Arctic Expedition Gear. BTW: For those who have done a bit of extreme cold weather environment exploration trips, are there brands you would recommend that have worked out good for you? Northface and Canada Goose are the only two good brands that I am familiar with. IP: Logged |
