I have no idea what that post was referencing, in another thread - I'll have to check. But I have a friend - a Capricorn lawyer, funnily enough - who was just helped by hypnosis, after she started to have panic attacks again. She went to see a hypnotherapist, and then continued to use recordings at home.IP: Logged |

I've used self-hypnosis to help myself before, though it was a slow process (as in years long) and done with other things. The caveat is that hypnosis makes the mind especially vulnerable to suggestibility (especially when mixed with drugs) which lends itself to abuse by the unscrupulous (or otherwise compromised), including the creation of false memories (even rewriting actual memories), among other things. Some TV advertisements even use mildly hypnotic techniques to (they hope) make more people more prone to being more easily manipulated for profit. IP: Logged |

Let me clarify--regression hypnosis is a load of crap. Oh, and stage hypnosis. My opinion. Carry on.IP: Logged |

The actual quote, I think, is: "As a man thinketh, so is he." It's from Proverbs, if I'm not mistaken. I've always looked at it as referring to how our thoughts attract experiences and help shape our reality.IP: Logged |

More or less, my thought was "2Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another." Have a good support network That said, the proverbial wisdom holds true, only now do we begin to realize the tolls of guilt, defeat etc, that run constantly in the background

Sort of, keep in mind hypnosis just engages the intellectual dialog, nothing more IP: Logged |

I believe that some people have regressed to an actual life they had before. I may have experienced it myself, just not as vivid and in-depth as those I've read about. IP: Logged |
