It can wreck your life.

On this thread we can mutually console each other about hair misery.

Perhaps I will even show you some pictures of the bad hairdos I had growing up. It's funny and sad. Well actually no I won't show you, but I will describe in graphic detail.

Just need some time to get my bearings and decide how to approach this.

Wishing everyone good hair.

XO

I mentioned this already but in the past few months I have noticed that my hair is starting to thin in the front and its noticeable. This has really depressed me because my hair was my most attractive feature. I had thick pretty dirty blonde hair but now its getting darker and thinning. It may sound dramatic but I feel like my life is over before it even really began.

Take cayenne pepper and soy isoflavones.

I'll dig up the article...

How can bad hair wreck your life? I am curious, not asking in a dissing way.

---> This is my hair re-growth thread about soy/capsaicin (cayenne)

Link to the original article: http://inhumanexperiment.blogspot.com/2009/09/capsaicin-and-soy-isoflavones-grow-hai r.html

Pictures:

When I originally made that thread above, I was just starting to re-gain my hair. Since then I have just adopted a very spicy diet and my hair has made a full comeback. The soy and cayenne work synergistically; however, in my case, the cayenne alone seems to have done the trick.

Also I only have a few gray hairs (literally, about three strands; I could just pluck them and say I have none) and I'll be 40 in January.

But I'm at a good point in my hair life.

Will venture into the dark times when I get a bit of time and the mood is right.

It's almost funny, my melodrama here...but if you think of it, people get treated according to their looks, so there is a lot of scope for pain, rejection, identity crisis, confronting one's mortality, and even religious discrimination (ie headcoverings) revolving around the hair.

That's why I said it can wreck your life.

On the other hand hair can be funny of course.

It's a broad topic....complicated.

Faith, I am not bragging because it is the aloes and not me. My hair is amazing. I can't get over it. I made my son drink aloe juice and he is getting better hair, too. He does not eat as good of a diet as I do. I think the hair is very tied to diet.

I will try that stuff but I have been taking Biotin everyday for a few weeks. Hopefully something works.

True, your god-consciousness would be awakened then.

I would be a sexy man and would be able to be condescending to unsexy guys and say "you just need confidence bro".

This, I have to contribute to, but not tonight. I am always fighting tangles, and I'm sure my hair was thinning for a while there. I started to get a lot of grey, several years ago, so I dye my hair every so often, and try to have fun with it, rather than feeling the resentment that occasionally crops up. I used to like my own hair colour, so I didn't really play around with it that way.

Do you use it to wash the hair, Ami, or just drinking it?

I've been using only homemade shampoo for a while, but never tried this, so I am interested.

My hair history includes cutting it and dying it in all possible shapes and colors, including green, blue, violet.

My hair is curly, but thin and I am constantly searching for a solution for that.

Dying it with henna (not black though, that's chemical) and senna proved to be the best solution for revigorating hair through dying. It makes it shiny and thicker; it is messy though, if you use genuine henna.

I have an aloe farm like about 60 big aloes. I juice the whole leaf.

Mum chopped most of my hair off, when I was seven or eight. She was tired of fighting it every morning - but she regretted it after she'd cut it.

It's a bit late, but I'm thinking about getting in the bath, and doing an oil treatment on my hair. I was supposed to be in there three hours ago... I might make it quick, and use coconut milk instead.

I love spicy food, but this is gross (warning):

it makes me throw up some sort of mucus. Sometimes I wonder if it's something else, important to my stomach, so I try to limit it, but don't last as long as I should.

Non-gross, depending on your view:
I add aloe juice to a little bit of water, and drink it quickly, following it with something else. That was back in March, when I was trying a diet change, and taking supplements. I didn't make it through them all, so I have to start again.

Collagen powder has been helping, I think. I noticed that the wispy hair around the edge of my face, seemed to grow in more than it had for a while, and it does help my stomach, so it must be helping the rest of me.
