Topic: Today is ( hopefully) the start of a new chapter in my life

I start classes at college this morning. I haven't been in school since I got out of High School so I'm excited that I'm finally going back. I feel like the years since I got out of High School have been the worst years of my life and I'm hoping this will be the start of a new and better chapter in my life. Pluto has been transiting my 11th house for a few years now and I have seen my social circle shrink dramatically. Some friends just drifted away from me or I drifted away from them. And there have been quite a few friends that I cut out of my life because I came to see that they weren't real friends or they were making bad decisions that I didn't want to be a part of. Overall, the last few years have been a very lonely time for me and I have just been doing my own thing. I'm hoping that being in school again will improve my social life and I'll make some new good friends. I went to the campus today to buy books for my classes and there was a good energy there and I felt like that is where I'm supposed to be. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will usher in some good times and end the nightmare i've been living the past 6 or so years. IP: Logged |

School will expose you to a lot of people and since you will be seeing them every day and getting to know them simply by being in class together, you will probably make a lot of new friends. Not to mention you will be able to focus your mental energy on a long term goal and many short term ones. I can see this as being very healing for you. Im happy for you. Really. IP: Logged |

Well the first day of classes went well. I think I'm going to like my teachers. They all seem to be pretty cool. I was amazed to see how many girls there are in school compared to guys. Girls made up atleast 60 or 70 percent of the students in all of my classes. And in one of my classes there was over 30 girls and only 3 guys. I have seen lots of articles that talk about women outnumbering men in college but it really puts things in perspective when you are in college and really see it. But I guess it's not such a bad thing because the numbers work out in my favor  . I'm going to be really busy this semester because all of my classes will require me to write alot of essays. I'm dreading that aspect of my classes but atleast I'm getting these classes out of the way early so I won't have to deal with that crap later on. IP: Logged |

You might like research and writing essays more than you realise! It depends on whether you choose a topic you like. There are usually around 12 weeks of classes in a course - and each week will have a separate topic.
And you usually get a choice regarding the essays you write (out of the topics covered). It might be more interesting than it seems now! IP: Logged |

I know I keep saying this, but I'm really really excited for you! So glad you're doing this  Do you remember on an older thread when you were talking about possibly becoming a truck driver - and I was saying that it would be a waste of your Aqua/Gemini talents.. and you should choose University instead and pursue a career that is more cerebral, rather than "hands on"...? ^ It's like I'm psychic..
