Has anyone here done it? I think I am considering it. I was recommended a shaman in my city and I am at least going to meet with her. Then, I shall see, depending what my gut tells me.

I have been thinking for a long time that I may need it. I didn't even know we had shamans here. My ex-bf has done some experimenting and he is also interested. We are both abuse survivors, so it's quite likely we might benefit from it.

I'd like to know how the experience was, for you. What should I expect? What should I be on the lookout for?

Thank you in advance!

Research first and really research whoever is presenting themselves as a shaman. This soul retrieval is serious business. Some people attend a few classes or retreats and advertise they are soul retrievers.
You don't want to end up worse than before or have your missing part lost even more.

I've heard about this, but I can't recall which of the two that I'm remembering is it. Same guy did both.

Best I recall, he liked the shaman who used smoke, fire, incense, chanting, and he said that it made a real difference in his life. So if that's the soul retrieval then that can be good (even if it doesn't literally "retrieve" wounded parts of the soul, it can be a good metaphoric journey that's healing).

He also described a woman who charged a lot who turned out to be a scam artist (and this "healer" eventually got busted for some other scam). She had this trick where the arm, IIRC, would be asked "Yes/No" questions, but she was subtly (and then later overtly as he started to catch on and resist) manipulating his arm to bend or not bend at certain points which conned him into buying all sorts of supplements. If that's the soul retrieval then it sounds like a scam.

I'll email him to ask which was the soul retrieval, but it will probably take him a few days before he answers.
