All of us are either leaders or followers. I don't know if it has anything to do with astrology though. Leaders have a lot of self confidence. IP: Logged |

Good leaders should grow their followers into leaders themselves.IP: Logged |

It's a good concept, but not always possible, as being either a leader or follower is an innate thing. Of course this is only my opinion.IP: Logged |

I didn't invent it. It's called Servant Leadership. A lot of large organizations use it. I agree that certain leadership traits seem inborn, but I also feel that good leadership involves skills that can be learned. IP: Logged |

Exactly. However, I can attest to the fact the some (specifically at my workplace) are labeled "leaders" but really behave like micromanaging managers. They use terms like "coaching" which is really just a more pleasant way to say that you screwed up and they want to talk to you about it. Lucky for us we finally got our leader back and got rid of the manager that was simply labeled leader. This one (the true leader), gives us goals, feedback, and direction. He mostly stays out of our work but is always there to guide us. Today he simply explained how to do a task that I hadn't done before, said, "I'm here if you have questions or so-and-so is a good resource." Then he walked off. I like that. If we have a bunch of things he'll let us know what's priority over other work and set me free. He'll work an off shift to help out. He's even done that if they've been short handed for something he knew ahead of time like vacation. Not often, but at least he's willing to. I love leaders. IP: Logged |

The terms "leader" and "manager" are mutually exclusive. A manager can also be a leader, and a leader can be a manager, but a manager is not a leader. IP: Logged |
