"Whatever you imagine to be real is real." (Hmm, plenty can't distinguish between fact or opinion, either, but I think this is more directed toward the idea that we create our reality, including how others react to us, with our thoughts.)

As a South Park scene, it's not safe for work, though if you're in a cubicle then watching it with headphones should be safe enough (it's the language more than anything else), especially as it's barely more than a minute long.

Yeah, if it worked like that, we'd be a society of philosophers with clubs. I doubt trivial factors as race and gender would even matter, but BELIEF. If it had that much power, and politics (and war, commerce, diplomacy, etc) is ultimately a war over resources and power, imagine (or don't!) if it really were that easy. We already war over belief, but if it was that powerful then the need to control thoughts would be mandatory to a stable civilization. Of course the corrupt would try to make sure their "thought guild" was dominant over all others. The twitter wars, and even literal religious wars (let alone school shootings and the like), would be a pale spring rain compared to the hurricane such a reality would inflict upon us, especially when our minds are the most terrible weapons.

Heck, they even did a horror story of one boy actually able to do things like that which is a classic:
