What kind of man thinks that is ok to hit a woman or lay his hands on her?

If a woman does not want to be with you because you send out signals that you have issues then want to meet her to talk to her, yet hit her because you can't shoer her around?? What kind of man does that then claim to love you?? Abuse is not love??? I have a hand print on my face and my eye is swollen??

I am so sorry that it happened.
Have you reported him to authorities about the incident?

He needs therapy above all.

No I started to but being he doesn't know where I live at and I was at friend's house. I just waited till he left and then I left. I am probably going to change my phone number.

This man has committed a crime - in my country anyway. I would report this. Men who feel it is OK to hit women tend to have a pattern of doing so, therefore it is helpful for the police to have a record of this. This helps protect you, and other women.
Also be aware that stalking can be quite common with men who do this, so yes, I would change your number and cease all contact.

How are you emotionally? Do you have good friends or family you can tell who will support you? How long has this been going on?

This really should be reported! I was a victim of domestic violence for almost 10 years. This is unacceptable behavior from anyone. Please get to safety and stay away. In America, the majority of murders happen to women. More often than not, these are acts of domestic violence. If you need someone to talk to, I am a peer to peer domestic violence counselor. I just choose to leave it alone, I don't think he will stalk me altho you can never really know. People who know him always talk well about him. I never thought he would behave this way. Either way its done and over, I asked others to just respond that she's done if he ask about me. Regardless of what is what, I do not care. That he doesn't need to know my business about what or how I am doing afterwards because it is none of his business. I just assume to disappear. I know when to leave well enough alone.

Emotionally I am ok, just making sure others know not to let him know anything about me because I think it will fuel whatever is going on inside of him. I do have people to talk to and hopefully this will just go away like a bad dream.

With something like this it helps to make a police report..Having been through domestic violence it can happen again and if there is no record it is harder to prove.

I think so, I was set up by a personal friend of mine with him. I just didn't like some of the things he was doing and went back to an ex of mine, then he came to see me , wanted sex which I refused, got mad because I pushed him back for pulling my hair, shoving me around, and putting his hands in my face. Then after I shoved him back to make him stop , I had looked at the ground and heard him talking , then smack. I saw stars.

He has made no contact as of today, which is a relief. For some reason I thought he may try to find me to make things up or something. He still wanted to be friends afterwards and no, if I see him I will walk the other direction. I think he likes to make other pay in some way or something. Like trying to make me jealous for whatever reason vs just saying I don't like xyz can we find a way to handle this. Not that you always get your way but its how you handle things, I thought he was more mature in the beginning.

what sucks about this is even if you call and report, the guy who hit you could say you hit him, and if there were no witnesses then they donít do nothing, also itís a good idea to take pictures of any bruises or cuts or black eyes etc...

Make a visit to a Domestic Violence shelter.
Become known as a 'client' of the shelter.
(You don't need to 'live' there.)

Report what happened to the counselor-screener.
They may teach you about the dynamics of a 'hitter'.

The record will be there with the DV office, in case you'd ever need it.

Like an animal... They get emboldened once they get the 'taste of blood'.
