Greetings,
I feel so stupid.I looked back at my text to a girl I’m now having trouble with but I saw that I told her all about this guy that sexually harassed me &his friends in an exercise class I take. I even told her how uncomfortable I felt when one of his friends joined her vegan group.This feels overwhelming. Everything about my life that’s supposed to be joyful-my classes &my outings with her group are really things that I looked forward to. I feel horrible that I didn’t trust my instincts about her &despite her unwelcoming attitude & I initially kept a distance from her-especially after my favorite jacket was stolen despite my asking, she did nothing to post or help me recover it. .Then,when I told her I sprained my ankle,she said nothing,then all of a sudden at a mindful triathlon 2 weeks ago, she &her friend were all up under me.&I just let it go. I ate out w them. I was open, I told them about losing people close to me & how I got a therapist after that. Crickets. I was too kind. Talked too much. Was too forgiving. Despite all the red flags. I feel so stupid &all of this feels so overwhelming.I just want peace &to be able to live freely w/o all of these people weaving envious intrigue in my life. It’s out of control bc they’ve seemingly joined forces- like there’s strength in numbers. & that alone is wild. Umph. I don’t know what how to address this anymore.I just keep moving forward holding optimism,bc I know there’s more than just this.I just wish it were easier. I really tried to be brief, bc I HATEHATEHATE recalling negativity’s bc i think it causes them to move closer in toward you. It magnifies. I'm for dumping them as they have no respect for you and probably using you, and don't seem to like you anyway. I just don't know why there aren't better people to gravitate to so that you wouldn't be around them anyway (though maybe you do know better people but try to include these people who are weeds in your garden). Maybe you're forced to be around them for some reason (like roommates in college) but acknowledging reality seems more useful than trying to change reality by "being positive." (A positive attitude does great things, but pretending things are better than they are in the name of being positive does not.) IP: Logged |
