I haven't seen a local homeless man, for over a year now. He used to be in the bookstore or Walmart, when it was too hot or too cold.

Just over a year ago, I also spoke to a homeless woman I met in the bathroom at Walmart. She had a little dog with her, and I wouldn't have known that she had nowhere to go, if she hadn't been in a bathroom at midnight, on the coldest night of the year, getting her little dog out of his bag/crate, so that he could walk around a bit, and eat. She'd been moving between stores all evening/night. I hope that she's okay.

Teasel, My heart goes out to the homeless who have pets... Recently there was a shelter in NY that opened that allows pets... I think It's a domestic violence shelter.

Here it is

I'm not one of them, but I can empathize that it's difficult to find a reason to get clean when you're also homeless. Those drug addicts need help, too, but when they're in crisis, it's going to be difficult to get clean.

It's a complicated problem with many sides that need to be addressed. But for many, the most important thing is to get off the streets first.

..we went camping, in the
summer...

We are the company we keep,
so this becomes a really big
problem..

Dragging people even further
down...

Meetings and Places
and people pretending
they are not using, and
they are still using, it's
a cycle of insanity. ...

If I can DO it,
anybody can!

We just need to care
about everybody!

(The music video to this song is pretty moving, too.)

They don't make music videos like that anymore. The closest thing are Five Finger Death Punch.

They really don't. More music videos should carry a positive message and purpose.

So..my daughter and I were living in Weare, NH
in a 4 bedroom house..the bottom floor to our
selves..and the friend we're renting from, his
x-girlfriend comes back and wants us out..
I'm homeless again..staying at the shelter,
in the ghetto of the city..it is just so sad,
drug addiction, mental illness, criminals out
of jail..
I'm doing like Jesus!

Something has to be done about this crisis,
and no affordable housing, it's crazy!

We spent money on a hotel at first, trying
to find a place, so holding onto what we have left for basic necessities...

I'm at the library now..you can't charge a
cell phone at the shelter..the library has
charging stations, and a bathroom...

Our thoughts create our reality!
I'm making the best out of this experience,
hoping some affordable housing becomes
available soon!

awww thanks you guys!

Everything happens for a reason!
After this post, I am going to write
to the shelter..the place is over
burdened with people..
There should be charging stations for
phones there, there is literally no
where to charge your phone, except for
the Library..How can you receive a call
back on a job, or housing? Some people
can't walk, the services provided are
maxed out..it's such a sad mess
But
I am there, lifting everyone's spirits
volunteering to help the handicap, and
working to make some needed changes!

and as always

Expecting Miracles
for a11. ...

The shelter i was in was very corrupt. The staff stole donations of clothes food and probably money also. I and other people witnessed it. No point making a complaint because the corruption goes further up. I found out.

Dee, you are absolutely right!
That's why I am writing to the
higher up...I may be opening up
a big can of worms..In the days
that I have been in the shelter
I have created a much better
atmosphere, in volunteering and
making things much better and
easier for everyOne, I am actually
very proud of mySelf.
It truly is up to us, a positive
happy attitude goes a long way...
