So, I thought maybe the asteroid Atlantis would figure in the synastry of twinsouls?

I just checked some of the celebrity couples that are most probably soulmates, maybe even twinsouls in some of the cases.

Johnny Cash and June Carter:

I don`t know, maybe this is all a coincidence, but it seems to me that there is very often an aspect of Atlantis to Venus (like in all examples here) or an aspect of Atlantis to Psyche (in 3 cases) or alternatively an aspect of Atlantis to Isis (in 2 cases).
Atlantis also seems to aspect NN or Karma in most cases.

Interesting. Probably worth being investigated more closely. Or it`s all just coincidence. lol

Those are the ones that happen by far the most often. But several
times there also have been aspects to Juno.
I think, that probably the other yin-planets / asteroids can be
counted here, too, like:

- Moon
- DC
- ruler of 7

On top of that there is often an aspect with either the Nodes or
Karma (I counted all Ptolemaic aspects, not just conjunctions).

And what is VERY interesting is that ATlantis also often aspects
Chiron, like in those cases:
- Johnny Cash / June Carter
- Antonio Banderas / Melanie Griffith (but only over quinkunx)
- Johnny Depp / Vanessa Paradis
- Robert Browning / Elisabeth Browning

And in those relationships there was a really big need of being
healed, wasn`t there?
June Carter saved Johnny Cash from himself and his addiction.
Antonio Banderas seems to have given Melanie some stability and also
helps her with her addictions, as it seems.
Vanessa Paradis also stabilized Johnny Depp`s life, and he once said
himself that meeting her had saved his life.
The love to Robert Browning gave Elisabeth Browning the strength to
leave her tyrannic father, lead her own life and even made her health
stronger, since she was always very sickly.

EDIT:
After having a short look on some synastries, there seem to be quite a few aspects between Atlantis and ruler of 7th house, AND the Atlantis aspects involve also the quinkunx and even the semisextile.

2nd EDIT:
I recall that Venus de India once mentioned in a post that Edgar Cayce saw the Draconic planetary positions instead of the Tropical ones, so maybe it makes sense to look for Atlantis aspects in the Draconics, too.

Also, I want to add, that I don´t think one single Atlantis-aspect can point your way to your Twinsoul or a close soulmate.
You certainly can find several random persons who have Atlantis-aspects with your chart.
But where it get`s interesting is, if the basic comparision shows that there is indeed a connection between two charts AND if the Atlantis-aspects are included in a pattern.

Examples:

Johnny Depp - Vanessa Paradis:

Vanessa has a tight Moon-Atlantis-conjunction.
Johnny`s NN conjuncts her Moon AND Atlantis, and his Mercury / Venus sextiles this conjunction.

Johnny`s Atlantis conjuncts his ASC (like in my chart, and his Atlantis is even trine my Atlantis, NN, ASC and Neptune. LOL - there you have it - random people...).
VAnessa`s Isis conjunct his Atlantis / ASC and her Chiron trines it.

Johnny Cash - June Carter:

JOhnny has a natal Atlantis / Chiron - conjunction (jep, he sure needed some healing I guess).
June`s Venus and Chiron conjunct his Atlantis / Chiron and her Juno opposes his Atlantis / Chiron.

Her Atlantis trines her Isis.
His Karma / Saturn opposes her Atlantis and naturally sextiles her Isis, while his own Isis squares her Atlantis.

Antonio Banderas - Melanie Griffith

Antonio has a close Atlantis / NN-conjunction.
Melanie Mercury and Venus fall onto that Atlantis / NN, while her ASC and SN trine it.

Her Atlantis conjuncts Jupiter.
HIs Moon opposes her Atlantis (the opposition to Jupiter may be too wide).
And his Mars / Psyche - conjunction trines her Atlantis / Jupiter.

This is what I mean by making patterns.
Maybe only people react to Atlantis which have a close conjunction, trine or square natally, and those seek others out, who aspect that configuration.

WEll, if this is true, it`s not a surprise that I have grown fascinated with this Atlantis.

Atlantis conjuncts my Mars, ASC, NN, Neptune (and it is exactly sextile my Pluto (I only mention this, because it`s exact).
On top of that, the asteroid Angel conjuncts Atlantis also exactly.
Atlantis is also opposite my draconic Moon.

I definitely see an Atlantis-pattern here.

i think this is a very interesting topic to discuss and i agree that 1st there´s a need to see the natals in order to find that the person has tight aspects to the Atlantis,and just then,see of it appears in sinastry.

I think your Atlantis-aspects are awesome. I had the thought this morning, that maybe in a synastry natal Atlantis aspects often get repeated (because we seek outside, what we carry inside ourselves, especially in the case of close soulmates), and now you confirm this.

Also, the planets which make the connections are very interesting, too.
It really seems to be something to the feminine planets aspecting Atlantis plus the angles and Nodal axis and Sun.

And Mhax and Glaucus confirmed that even further. Thank you.

I couldn`t resist looking into a special synastry of mine, but I won`t tell the name.

Well, here Atlantis sits exactly on 00° Libra (isn`t that the Aries-point?) and squares Sun and NN from one side and SAturn on the other side. Doesn`t sound so glamorous. lol
It also sextiles Mars.

In the DAvison:

Atlantis sits exactly onto Pluto and IC and trines Venus and Jupiter in the 7th house.
It also sextiles Neptune exactly.

in the composite of P and me, composite Atlantis is exactly conjunct my natal Moon and his natal SN. It also conjuncts Composite Sun widely.

In the Davison (uncorrected) Atlantis is square the Chiron / Moon-conjunction (which makes sense, since we have a Chiron-Atlantis - dw in synastry) and exactly trine Venus.
DAvison Atlantis conjuncts my Venus and trines his Venus (it also conjuncts his dr Moon and opposes my dr Juno).

Sometimes astrology is a really simple language, isn`t it?

However, in the mentioned synastry above the composite Atlantis is conjunct my dr Karma and his dr Atlantis and natal Pluto.

In the Davison Atlantis is exactly conjunct my Pluto and his MC, sextiling both of your ASC / Neptune and my NN. It is also still conjunct my dr Karma (2°) and his dr Atlantis and natal Pluto (4°).

If you apply Equal house systems, the first opposition is from 10th to 4th house, while the second one is from 7th to 1st house - the main axises in any chart!!!

There is no planet / asteroid in the first degrees of Cancer, if there was it would even be a Star of DAvid!
His natal Atlantis and her natal ASC fall near to those degrees in Cancer though.
Actually the midpoint of her ASC and his Atlantis is opposite the Davison- Atlantis. Amazing, isn´t it?

Why am I not surprised that you have such strong Atlantis-conenctions?
Also, Venus, Node and ASC, it seems to confirm my theory about Atlantis, and especially about the Atlantis connections in Draco.

What do you think could a connection between Atlantis and Vertex mean?

When you meet someone new look at what the transits are and progressions as well as asteroids and arabic parts that may be set off.

For example I have my progressed node on my natal node that is also my point of travel by air and happiness. when progressed paris hit paris transiting jupiter was conjunct my node allowing me to travel to paris.

AS for john depp and vanessa paradis when he met vanessa his sun had progressed to his node along with mercury. telling him to travel, again with him it was paris because saturn sits conjunct his natal paris wich was quincunx his node.
with the sun to the node it manifested as a job in a new location and important, prominent people come into the life at this time leading one to bigger and beter things.

However, her natal karma falls conjunct his MC, and we know they have node opposition node wich can mean karmic soulmates. and with saturn to the sun she is either here to teach him something, or he learn from here.
Though once karma ends it is over there is no room to grow.

I have had to come to tearms with the fact that my husband and I are karma with his karma on my MC.
I am told now from a higher source it is over there is no room left to grow. with pluto progressed to pluto in the seventh and transiting pluto in the tenth wich can affect status as well as career even marriage status.

The good thing for me is that I have a yod that promises a new love in my life and this new love is my destiny this is what my whole life has been leading up to. ( time for change)

one more thing to add about John depp his vesta ( work ) is hiting his point of destiny with mars and transiting saturn is comming soon. He formed a grand trine showing a death in work.
His true work in life is to leave behind the business world and focus on family and his time has come for him to deal with that.

I think these are some very strong aspects.

Especially Atlantis / moon, Atlantis / Karma, Atlantis / ASC, Atlantis / Eros and Atlantis / Chiron.

I think it`s interesting that the connection between Atlantis and ASC seems to happen quite often.

But I agree with Vesta Sister, the progressed synastry is an unvaluable tool to see what is triggered at a time.

I can only recommend Paul WEstran`s book: "When stars collide - progressed synastry". It was a real eyeopener to me. And everytime I check progressed synastry I am amazed at how perfect it describes a relationship.

you can scroll down the menue on astro.com where you select the type of chart you want; there is one for progressed chart, too. But don´t forget to type the right date into the field, where it sais: Start Date under "Options".

I`d write down the natal placements and the progressed placements and compare them with your guy`s.
Progressed - Natal
Progressed - progressed

But the orb has to be under 2°. At least that is the orb that WEstran researched, and it seemed to have worked.

Also, look out for conjunction / trine / Oppositions of Sun-Venus, Venus-Venus, Venus-Mars, ASC-Sun, ASC-Mars or ASC-Venus.
Those are the ones that will be present at the beginning of a relationship, and they give a certain flavour to this relationship, like for example: let`s say a relationship started under a progressed Venus-Mars-opposition, then it would be a rather passionate encounter I guess.

I think you can do that with Draco`s and asteroids, too, but the mentioned aspects have been researched and show good effects. In fact I haven`t found one single relationship that didn`t have at least one of these aspects.

I am curious what your results will be.

There are also some threads here on progressed synastry and progressed synastry as soulmate timers. but unfortunately I don`t know on which page of the forum they are hiding.
