This is the thing with Tantulus.You WANT something like a drink of water.You are so thirsty but you can't seem to get it.
I know a person with Tantulus on his Venus.He WANTS love and connection but he always messes it up by his own hand.
Can you relate to the feeling behind Tantulus?

TANTALUS: Teasing; temptation; times when what is wanted is just out of reach; excessive hunger or thirst; failures of gratitude; problems with giving the right thing to the right person; feeling as though one is “tested on whether they know” about aspecting or axis factors------------------

Wooh, it is conjunct and basically exactly on siva that I had just looked up!so conjunct my Juno, trine mars true node and rising too, square my venus. I think those are some pretty heavy placements, ahh. Does that mean that if I am myself, certain things will always be just out of my reach? If I express my feelings..same thing. If I try to reach for my destiny/life path (NN) it will be just out of reach? IP: Logged |

Tantalus has a failure to appreciate, giving the wrong thing to the wrong people, an aura of temptation and a tendency to do things just to test and see if others find out or know

Well I am wondering if it is good though cuz the story of Tantulus was that it never came to be.
I have been pondering this.
Would it mean tantalizing in a good sense of the sense that you want something very badly but never can attain it?

I do not see Tantalus as good. I do not see it as Tantalizing energy in a good way.I see it as the poem about being around so much water but having none to drink. Does this relate to your Mercury, Sand?
I could see it on a Mercury as perhaps having an ADD problem, stuttering or a communication problem where one was so frustrated about not being ABLE to communicate as one wished in the same way one could not drink the water even though it was all around. What do you think Sand? ------------------

Maybe, it is ultimately more enduring than a relationship which gets done and dusted easily, but still there seems there will always be an element of not being able to "possess" one another in the way they would like. Yes I was thinking that it could set the tone of the relationship if it were on such major planets.
It is only one aspect and would have to be considered in the context of the whole chart.
HOWEVER,I wonder if the fact that it is SO highlighted on the Sun may make it the theme of the relationship.
What do you all think?

"I could see it on a Mercury as perhaps having an ADD problem, stuttering or a communication problem where one was so frustrated about not being ABLE to communicate as one wished in the same way one could not drink the water even though it was all around." never had difficulty focusing. i'm a three. i have tunnel vision when i work. iv always thought that's what my merc in aries meant. mostly i see the end when it's being told to me then i can outline stuff and i just fill in the rest of the time but the whole thing is pretty much done. but yeah there are drawbacks to that style of work as well. I don't know about numbers.Could you please explain what you mean by tunnel vision.
it does not SEEM like you have ANY problems at all with any Mercury related thing as far as I can see .
This would show up on a Board like LL which is all about Mercury/communication, I would think. ------------------
