Echo might represents the place where we get rejected (among other possible interpretations); and Narcissus might represent where we are so narcistic and in love with ourselves that we cannot appreciate and reciprocrate the loving attention of others.Maybe if someone else`s Sun or ASC is conjunct our Narcissus, we might project it onto them; they might embody the "rejector" to us. Lycans is a word for werewolves. One origin of the lore may be found in Ovid`s Metamorphosis (probably there are earlier origins though). He tells the story of the king Lycaeon who was so arrogant and cruel he wanted to test Jupiter who visited him, in first trying to kill him in sleep and then secondly slaughtering someone (his son?) and making Juhpiter eat him/it and thus fooling the god. Jupiter of course recognized the trap and punished Lycan. The punishment was that the King, who had behaved in such an inhuman way, was transforming his body into that of a wolf under much pain (so his outer body would match the "beastliness" of his inner soul). At least that is what Ovid made of it. IP: Logged |

You`re welcome. My pupils seem to be fascinated (and luckily equally repulsed) by that story as well; maybe because werewolves are such an integral part of today`s (horror/mystery)films. I am still searching for a latin story which involve vampire-like creatures. IP: Logged |
